Default Poll on Blown engines

Wanted to find out what the total count of blown motors was and with what kit. Hopefully this hasn't been done yet.

Please choose one kit and then the boost level.

My motor is eating oil after my Vortech 8psi kit. Does that count as a blown motor?

I would love to know the answers, however there is no accountability. So far 4 people have taken the poll listing 2 as NA with minor mods, 1 APS and 1 Greddy. I find it very doubtful that someone blew the motor at NA with minor mods and I think all the FI regulars would know if there was an APS blown motor.

Again, I think this could be a great post, but you should have to record your screen name and explain the conditions to post in the survey. If someone puts down Stillen or APS (of which I have not heard of any blown motors) they can be tracked and asked for specifics.

I agree, but then this post will be 18 pages long like everyone else's. i was curious to see how many have gone up. Lately there has been about 5 failures, last week alone i believe.

This would be a good poll if it kept people from posting garbage info. I know for a fact there have been no blown Turbonetics kits, and I have yet to see reports of confirmed blown APS TT. Good initiative, bad judgement.

Isn't it possible to setup a non-anonymous poll?

Yeah, moderators can select to "show users who vote in poll." I did it with most of mine that I posted when I was a moderator. Although I don't think barth can do that in forums he doesn't moderate in.

Also, I have heard of a blown motor with APS. Just because they blew their motor and have an APS kit, doesn't mean jack, same thing with GReddy. People immediately think it's the kit. (I think it was marluci?, I believe bubble or somebody had mentioned it on another thread)

Oh yeah, and if you catch GodZilla in a good mood, you can get him to chang the poll options so no one can vote BS. (shoot him a PM and see if he'll do it)

I would like to hear more about the NA motors that blew up. Anyone care to share what happened?

I heard of two N/A motors blowing from an oil consumption problem. I believe Nissan fixed one of the guy's engine's too. You'd have to do some searching to find more about it (conditions, etc.).

I don't think it was Marluci. He posted not too long ago that his car has been running fine.

Maybe not then? Like I said, i'm not sure. The post I was referring to: https://my350z.com/forum/showpost.ph...5&postcount=30

(honestly I figured it was him, he is using Carrillo A-Beam rods and I figured he reached 500rwhp and then figured out why they were called economy rods)

not sure this is gonna work...there have been 21 votes, 20 votes that tell how they blew their motor and only 13 that tell what psi. So someone put a certain psi without telling how they blew it and at least 8 others put what kit they used but no boost numbers.

It might have worked better if you had put a selection of each kit w/ boost rather than separate...would keep it more usable.

yeah I think Zillinois said his NA engine blew from reving to 7100 a lot - or at least that's what I think he said caused it.
