Are you getting 9 PSI every time? Spiking to 9 may happen but it should be at 8-8.5 depending on what else is done to the car.

thats what sgp told me. im bone stock, no other bolt ons whatsoever. also, mia, maybe you can help on this also. my bov doesnt go off everytime i shift, is that normal, it only makes a sound when i hear the turbo spool, and i let off the throttle or shift. just wondering if its normal, if it is, how do i make it go off at every shift? any adjustments i can make? (maybe i can mess with that screw on the top of bov) or purchase a new one to sound everytime i shift? oh also, when im parked and i rev the engine i dont hear my turbo spool up or the bov go off, is that normal also? i thought it would spool even though its just parked and i rev high enough. sorry about the so many questions, im a noob when it comes to f/i. thanks in advance.

The BOV will make noise when you spool the turbo. It depends on when your shifting. When you boost it needs to be released hence the noise...when your not boosting no noise. At least thats what makes sense to me but I'm a noob to FI as well..

Zman is right. The whole purpose of a blowoff valve is that the turbo spools up and the BOV blows the air out so it doesn't come back into the turbo and the turbo can spool up again faster. So if you're not hitting it enough to have the turbo kick in you're not going to hear anything from the BOV.

That is correct. The BOV only opens when there is actual pressure in the intake tract. If you do not spool the turbo it will not blow off. Unfortunately this is not a BOV specific issue. Any BOV does the same thing. When you are not moving and just revving the motor there is not enough airflow/load to spool the turbo so the BOV wont do anything. I can get mine to blow off in neutral while stopped but I have to rev to redline. Not a good idea.

Luv2eat, do you mind if I ask how old you are? Just out of curiosity, not trying to insult you.
