Default how or where to buy just turbo manifolds

Is it possible to just get the manifolds from kits like Greddy? I am assuming distributors won't sell just the manifolds so I would have to contact Greddy dirctly. Thanks.

Greddy wont sell them seperately, or any of the parts from the turbo kit. I have asked.

Damn. I guess the only way would be to find a private sale.

SSR(USA) and Top Fuel(JP) sell turbo manifolds seperately I believe.

is someone looking to make his/her own custom kit? I wonder when people will start going that route, especially in single turbo applications..

Yeah yeah I know, it's not cost effective this that.. it CAN be very cost effective indeed. It's just that in our twin turbo application, there are a lot of parts and especially unknowns so it doesn't make sense at this point YET.

Hehe. I am just trying to make a comparison to see if it's worth making one. I have a friend that can do all the intercooler piping for me and install everything for me (freeee!). All I would need to do is buy the parts. I was thinking of Greddy manifolds with gt28 turbos, tial wastegates, tial bovs, e01, rps clutch, etc. I already have the APS exhaust with RT cats.

If you can get decently priced turbo manifolds, or even fab up something to connect to the stock manifolds, and have access to a welder or friends who know how to weld, I believe you could fab up a turbo system (single) for under $3000, including stand alone. Ya just gotta know what to buy and what's tried and true. With my connections I could probably do it for about $2000. Makes ya think about dropping the $4000-$5000 on a prefabbed kit. Much easier to do(to just fork out the $ for a pre made kit), but think of the satisfaction you'd have driving around in your own custom turbo Z. Yum.

I'd love to see the piping on that one black Z with the custom single GT42 kit one of the vendors have.. too lazy to look for the post but that looked really nice.

Still trying to locate some manifolds lol. Oh by the way, anyone know what turbos the APS kit uses? Is it comparable to a gt28r or gt28rs?

APS uses a GT3528R (custom) for the TT kit.
No idea what they use on the ST kit.

A guy on the other board has pics and a vid of his custom single turbo kit. Total cost for everything was ~$7k I think. The turbo position is really cool, right in front of the motor.

Hmm custom turbos. Do you know the compressor and exhaust housing size? The reason I was looking for manifolds (I could have these made as well) is to minimize down time. I wouldn't have to worry about fitment if I were able to get some from a kit and get similar sized turbos. Then I wouldn't have to remove everything to measure anything. The intercooler piping could be made probably over a weekend. This is just a thought in my head right now and I still don't know how it would turn out in terms of pricing. Obviously the big manufacturers buy everything in bulk so they save money there. But I won't be charged for fabrication or install so I would save money there. It's kind of a tough call right now.

Nope, and you won't find them. Peter can't release the compressor map for them or any specs. It took us a while just to find out what they are.

I think I know of a place that has APS exhaust manifolds, let me see if they still sell them.

It's SPL Parts, doesn't look like they sell them anymore. They also used to sell APS TT kits for $6970. You could call or email them though and see if they will still sell you some.

Call up Boost Logic and see if you can get one from them. Last I heard they had some custom exhaust manifolds made and then decided to make a turbo kit. And last I heard they were still working on the turbo kit.

This is turning out to be a more difficult endeavor than I had originally thought.
