Default APS TT installation price?

Hello!

I was wondering what is the average price for installing the APS TT, on the 350Z.

Thank You!

Usually around $2500 for the standard install.

Holy crap that's high. Is it about 20 hours for the install? Wouldn't it be just whatever hourly shop rate is X20?

Most installs for the APS average 30-34 hours. Greddy is around the 20 hr mark you are referring to. At $80 /hr thats $2400 on the low side for the APS.

$2500 is cheap. I did my aps install myself and it took 35 hrs. figure I am worth roughly $150/hr and that comes out to be $5250 install.

on a serious note, I have heard of shops installing it for around $1800 - though I can't remember where this was.

Before I went to Japtrix I was quoted as much as $3000 and places swore that you had no choice but to pull the engine.Needless to say that is not the case. But some shops will only do it that way.Either way it is just personal preferance of the installer.

Keep in mind that alot of these prices include dyno, tuning, new gaskets, plugs, fluids, etc....it adds up quick.

Please keep in mind you GET what you pay for. The low ball shops likely are not as experienced with this type of install, and may make mistakes. The $2500 we quoted is fair..if not a tad low. This includes 100% customer satisfaction, road testing, and 3 dyno pulls to insure the A/F ratios are safe. We'd never give a car back to a customer unless it was perfect, and the customer is 100% satisfied.

FYI: My company doesnt do install on site. By appointment only through my partner shop.

I was quoted $3500 from Brainstorm. That included installation and 2 hours of dyno time.

Well unless they are a unichip dealer the 2 hours of dyno time is about 1:45 more than needed.

Brainstorm is a unichip dealer, actually several of the APS maps were developed there...Having said that $3500 is way too high...

I remember they quoted me $3500 including tuning, this is the first I hear them saying 2 hours dyno time...that tells me that if they're not done tuning after 2 hours you get hit with even more cost. Shoot, I hate that they are pretty much my only option

I was quoted $3000 from the local unichip dealer. That was $2500 for the install and $500 for tuning. Lucky for me, my brother is a Nissan tech, and he's going to install it for free.

Well if they developed some of the maps then they shouldn't over the 2 hours for sure.

Anywhere from $2,000-$3,000. Anything more and I believe they are overcharging, anything less and I believe you will have a problem with it later on.

I paid less and got a flawless install zero problems and they made sure I was 110% satisfied. So I guess you just have to know the shop your dealing with. And I have 4k on my kit.

Isn't the APS kit "idiot proof" for install? If so i'd consider the install myself with a knolegable friend.

The APS TT kit is probably the most time consuming kit to install for the avg. person. I highly doubt its a piece of cake unless your experienced of course...

I wouldn't call it idiotproof either since peoples turbo's are smoking due to incorrect installation...done by both owners and pro shops
