Vortech Tuners in N.Cal.
Does anyone know of any tuners in N.cal who can tune the Vortech.
The only shop I know so far is Z car garage, I called Gruppe s and they do not work with the SS system, so is there any other tuners??

I have no issues with them at all
I just wanted to see if there were options available, I rememeber when G352NV posted his SSV results, he mentioned that it was only there 2nd tune on this system. Plus I would like to get a more straight line AF reading like I have seen with the NC people have posted.

Z car is top notch. But I think he wants to get his air/fuel even. As you can see with mine it drops to 10 until 5100 rpm then goes up to 11.5 then a drop to 10.0 again at 6100rpm. I thought this was a good tune but others on the site think it can be improved if my air/fuel was steady.
Yes I was in a roundabout way referring to your tune but with no malice intended, just want to get a nice smooth linear AF reading, I thought 11.5 was what everybody aimed for, is that right?
Naw its all good. I dunno why he wasnt able to get my air/fuel even. He said that was the best the Vortech box would let him do. Im also looking for a new tuner and that smaller pulley, lol.

I just talked to him, he said it's the FMU acting funny, mine is going in on July 4th and will be there for a few days, I told him to take his time and do the best he can on our crappy 91 octane gas.

Tom
Tom, I called today and spoke with Mike, I was not purchasing the kit but wanted to get it tuned and when I mentioned I had the ss box he said we can't tune them???
I was sure you could unless there is more than 1 gruppe s located in the bay area. My friends just had a dyno day there last weekend, if you rememeber Ron from the 3000gt club .

I think you can get more power and still have a very safe tune I would see if he can get the a/f between 12:1 - 11:5 from 3000-5000 and from 5000 - 6700 a steady decline to lower 11's or high 10's by redline
I didnt think I rushed him. It was there two days. On the second day I called and told him I was heading up and had to leave by 4pm but I thought I would watch him tune it. I pulled up at 12pm and was getting directions to the dyno when he pulled up in my car. Ithought maybe he was taking a lunch or something. I said whats up, he said he was done and would go over the tune with me. He showed me the sheet and said it was good HP and a very safe tune. If I wanted more HP I should go with cams. I asked about the air/fuel and was told that was the best he could do with the SS box that Vortech has. I was like cool.
I came home and posted on here my results. Everyone was like you car is way rich! I got many PM's saying it could make more power if it was leaned out. I just pulled my plugs and they are BLACK!

im not implying that you rushed him. Some of the others that posted are like look at mine. But they didn't just try and tune it once, it took them a while to get their A/F like that. I would call him and talk to him and see what yal can do. When he tuned mine it took a few days to get it straight but he got it done. I wanted a nice crisp tune and thats what I got. He said he had to detune it because it was making to much so we kept it at 440.
