Default APS Tallboy Plenum

I know you folks have been discussing the new APS TallBoy plenum in other areas.

However, I just got off the phone with two distributors here in Texas. Their back ordered APS Plenum is due to arrive any day now.

Cost: $445

What are your new thoughts on comparisons to other plenums as far minimum HP gains for this new product.

APS Tallboy

APS Tallboy
Should be right on par with the Crawford in tems of performance gains. But....has additional injector bosses and is cheaper in price.

how is $445 cheaper than $350?

and where are the additional injector bosses? I'm not sure I see what you mean? Are you perhaps talking about what APS is going to be offering next with their big power setup?

I was referring to the V5 not the cast version. The bosses are formed into the sides of the manifold. You can see them in the photos...they just need to be cut out when the big fuel system is installed.

^^^That was my understanding too^^^

Performance wise, I think we're going to find the gains nearly identical to the already proven Crawford. The Crawford cast is in stock now, and $355 shipped, so its significantly less expensive than the APS as well.

We will probably carry the APS as well, but honestly, I am not certain its worth the extra cost at this point.

a) APS will be selling a different version of the Tall boy with the injector bosses already drilled as part of the "big fuel" kit. Drilling them "accurately" yourself would be cumbersome , so I'd just wait a few months if you want the big fuel upgrade.

b) To do this on the Kinetix plenum would require 6 injector bosses to be welded into the runner. The SS tube thickness is inadequate to just drill out for injectors .

MRC Motorsports gets an air shipment in a few days, not too many plenums available though.

GRD Performance also has a large shipment coming soon (not only for the ST GB members).

Oh crap! That's a great price! Anyone have experience buying from these guys? Anyone willing to check them out & make sure this price does in fact include the strut bar or is it a typo? If so, I'm all over this...

I don't think the bar is included, it costs $245. I doubt the sell the plenum for $150.

The strut bar is NOT included. That site needs to be updated...

The first pic looks like a 3d cad drawing, while the second one is the actual product.

I figured it is a mistake, but I thought I would bring it up, maybe someone can get them to honor that price. I already ordered my plenum and stb with the turbo on the gb.

Okay, I sent them an email to confirm this pricing with strut bar. I'm thinking it's a typo too but let's see what they say.
