HELP! somethings wrong with my car!
Not sure about the guages, but definitely sounds like the 2K issue on the rpm is a limp mode issue. If you can clear the SES light via scanner, it may fix your problem. I think you are going to have to go to the dealer.
Try unplugging the MAF sensor harness and plugging it back in. It always worked for me when I went into limp mode.

I ran into a similar problem when I had a ground wire that shorted. I have an automatic and when this occurred the car would only drive in 4th gear and would not go over a certain rpm. I also had a SES light and the code basically said it was a problem with the wiring. I took it to the dealer and they found the faulty ground within a couple of hours and had it fixed. Hopefully it all works out for you as well.
one way to rule out the split second box would be to disconnect the SC, reset the ECU, and see if it will run N/A mode...
if it still acts up, i'm leaning towards the CAS sensor as well, though, wouldn't you hear detonation then?

I think if she has the wire harness and the SS box is wired into it , she just can unplug the harness and hook it back up like stock . Dont think she even would have to take off the SC cog belt to see it works

car is at the shop now, just waiting to see what they say, I passed along the comments from this thread for them to try out, so we will see.
awaiting impatiently on the call. the more and more I think about it, the more I think it is limp mode and some shortage or wire problem.

Cat...you do have the wire harness that you have the SS box wired into right ? If they think its some wire shortage , Have them take the harness out and plug the factory harness back into the ECU . Im sure they have tried to reset the ECU already
If it's work under Warranty and they see a harness that did not come with the car from the factory I doubt they will even touch it.. Hopefully they will look up the ses code and determine the problem without having to hook up the stock cable..
Everyone that is running FI, NEEDS to invest in some sort of code reader.
The random SES lights that come on when you introduce FI need to be address immediately and not just by resetting the ECU. Most of the time they are something simple like a P2135 TPS, while other times they can be something major P0325 knocking that could potentially blow your motor.
For the 150-200 bucks that they cost, they are probably one of the most useful tools you will have and USE.
I run a Palm M125 with PocketLogger software that I have had for about 4 yrs now. It works great on the Z and I know immediately why a throw a CEL and can turn it off without even slowing the car down.

That's cool. If (when) I go FI , an car PC with full diagnostics is a no-brainer.
