sharif, i see there is an input for the knock sensor also. is there a setting or parameter for the eu to self adjust timing in relationship to the knock sensor and save the settings? or is it just used to record knock signal? thanks. bye the way, will be ordering one in the morn from ya so hope you still got atleast one. you prolly already got my message.

The device is perfect for tuning, so the results will only be as good as the tuners ability with the NA car...as well as the F/I cars.
Hope that made sense.

If you control the actual timing then the maf signal almost doesn't matter. Now(with the blue) if you scale too much it throws off the timing(advanced). Does the EU control actual duty cycle as well?

Or eliminate the MAF altogether if cant get it working properly. You can convert to a speed density (MAP based) setup. I never really saw the need for this on the VQ, as our MAF is not physically restrictive, and all fueling and timing control is mapped out via pressure anyways.

I'm working on an eight channel knock control system for the coil-on-plug Fords.
Unlike Nissan coils, the Ford coils do not have internal ignition transistors. They are inside the EECV processor. The emanage cannot drive the coils directly, unless they have internal igniters.
Also, from what I have seen, the emanage ignition driver chip is a six channel device. From my post #222 on page 12:

The eManage Ultimate can drive up to 8 injectors and coils, but the last 2 are bridged in some fashion. I dont know exactly how this is done, but there is a wiring diagram in the insturction manual for 8 cylinder direcft applications.

Two problems with the Ford ignition.
The emanage cannot drive Ford coils. These coils need a ten amp driver for each channel. Greddy upgraded the ignition driver chip, but not that much.
The second problem is that if you attempt to install a timing control with real ignition drivers between the EECV and the coils, the EECV "knows" that it's no longer connected to the coils, and shuts down the ignition system.
Possibly, you could install four MSD dual tach adapters, then the emanage, then two MSD DIS IV boxes.

I guess its only compatibly with 8 cylinder Import applications...since it does have a diagram and setup for 8 cylinder.
Thanks for the clarification John...again!
