Default Cel - ECU not keeping O2 info

Booger may be right.. A short in the Quick Clips is removing the O2 info.

The way the ECU learns is by the Oil Temp => 165 degrees - before that the
ECU uses the previous maps - ( IF available ) - But when the Learn O2 starts its program is at 165 Degrees. In the older Z's the car would run fine until the 160 degree mark
then everything would go to hell if the O2 sensor was faulty or had a poor connection.. Any connection should be crimped and soldered - then heat shrinked. Any less then you will have a bad day.

Cheers Amy -

ok, unhooked the wideband and narrowband gauge, (had narrowband hooked up since wideband only worked from time to time). cranked the car, doesn't sputter, or atleast it didn't right then, still have a cel but could that be from a cel that i had from last night ? or does a cel go away once the car is turned off and back on.

Your welcome
You might find out that the Z box is shorted out inside the box . hope not , but they dont charge much to fix it .

my CEL tripped on 2 different occasions today. 1st time the CEL went off half way in the day, but it just came back on earlier tonight. my a/f gauge would spike lean and my engine would sputter and as if its about to shut off or pull a muscle or something. it would go away after a min or so. it only happened when the car was in idle.

both times the code thrown was 300 "multi cylinder missfire". i have nitrous but i havent used it since last november so that cant be it. i did a compression test a few months ago and everything checked out. could it be my spark plugs? if so, how often should irridium plugs be replaced?

thanks.

Could be a plug or a coil.

i wish they could narrow it down a bit more than just the po300 "random misfire " how about, "your coil is shorted" or "your #6 signal wire is grounded" or "or you have breakin metals on the cam sensors" if you can't tell i have been having a helluva time with this code. it has come back in many different forms to. i am running the emanage ultimate and before it would just be the ecu flashing the mil po300. then the enamage kicked in too with a "incorrect #6 signal" then the ecu would do a po301 for #1 misfire. then the enamage would come back and say incorrect ignition signal on ch6 and ch1. mind you this can come in any random order and or be running just perfect then start running like crap for no apparent reason. 4 of 6 of my coils are brand new with the ones on #6 and #1 are new. emanage wiring is perfect and no grounding of wires. all sensors are clean and it doesn't matter if the motor is cold or warm or hot. i'm honestly about to light the car on fire and save myself the stress, lol. any ideas i havn't done?

i just had to pay for a compression gauge. i did the testing myself. around $25 total.

the service manual lists about 10 possible causes for a random missfire. i guess im going to have to go threw the manual and try to narrow it down. im going to start with checking for an intake leak and new plugs.

who makes a good 1 step colder irridium plug? im using denso 2 step colder but i think im gonna go back to 1 step colder.
