*Wipes tear away* (Referring to 350ZdCalb's long reply)

Preach on brother . . .

This is very true and I know many FI junkies have fantasies of hitting 425+whp without much effort, but the fact remains, its russian roulette when you don't address these items and exceed 380whp (or just have a crappy tune below that whp).

Just have a plan and don't be too thrifty with your budget. After all, is $600 in gauges or even $1600 or so in forged internals really worth having to pay twice that to rebuild an engine? The labor is miniscule compared to the worst case scenario fellas, so chalk up the cash

1200 miles, then a stillen stage II. 1000 miles later a custom 8 pound pulley.

Currently at 3400 miles. I don't drive it very often.

My APS TT kit went on at 4020 miles. Still holding together at 4888 miles as of last night

APS TT went in last week at ~13,000 miles. Running strong after about 600 miles in the last week (I can't stop driving it!).

Later,

the greddy tt kit is NOt complete out of the box...APS, and some others are more complete, making them safer when used "out of the box"

the greddy tt kit CAN be just as safe..you must address a few things first:
1-ignition harness--you must pull timing to make any forced induction safe --(the unichip on the APs kit does this-definately adds to its reliability)

2-must tune the e-manage fuel map--can not rely on the out of the box e-manage map--it sucks and is dangerous

3-one SHOULD address the fuel system is going over, say 7psi or so (8.5psi and above is closer to where the stock fuel system is maxed out)...get a return system with a 1:1 FPR

4-A/F gauge and EGT..monitor them daily to ensure ECU hasn't mutated the tune into a leaner condition...if you are running any F/I without at least these two gauges,,you are just guessing and praying...you need to be able to monitor these two imputs!!!

if these 4 things were followed on EVERY greddy tt kit that was installed...you wouldn't hear all of these horror stories (mine included, believe me, i learned the hard way)

so...greddy should not advertise their kit as "complete" or ready to go "out of the box"..they should add some disclaimers about the 4 abovementioned items...
but, just because they don't forewarn anybody about their kit, doesn't make their kit, when used properly (with the 4 crucial items above) any more dangerous than the rest!!!

and..to add...companies like www.forgedinternals.com (sharif) are EXPERTS regarding the greddy tt kit and ALWAYS give the best recommendations to any greddy customers- to insure the safety of their kit

those whp blew a motor on the greddy kit either: had the kit when it firts came out and didn't know to do all of these 4 precautionary dealies (me)...
ran too much power- the internals couldnt physcially handle the stress (few)...or didn't heed any of the abovementioned advice and figured they would be ok (most)
350zDcalB, Barthelb et All;

Well,

I was not expecting such a response from the group here. I understand everyone has their opinions on this matter. I do apologize for the deviation from the topic matter but thought I would answer with my configuration.

AAM advised me and is performing the installation (and tuning) of my Greddy TT kit. The setup includes (among other things) the TT w/ 440 cc injectors, Intercooler, BOV, wastgate, complete AAM Fuel System w/ Walboro pump, AAM Y-Pipe, AMM Angled Plenum spacer, Boost & Exhaust gauges, HKS boost controller, e-manage, ATS Twin plate carbon clutch/flywheel, grounding kit and High Flow Cat. In addition I am having the ECU flashed and dyno tuned by AAM.

If anyone feels I have missed something that would assist in providing realibility please feel free to PM me with suggestions. I agree skimping in $1,000 parts after spending well over $10k is not sound.

I think this will provide me the reliability/stability I desire. In addition if I choose in the years to come, to build the internals, I have a system that can take advantage of it with some further minor modifications

Sweet! These threads have got me drooling for either the APS TT or the Turbonetics ST.

One quick question: what kind of gas mileage are you guys getting with those snails?
