Whenever my car gets about 1/4 tank of gas left there is a loud noise that sound like rattling in the tank. Is this normal? It all started when I installed the walbro 255lph fuel pump.

in the case of my walbro upgrade...when it was originally installed, the bottom part of the pump was not modified properly, therefor not allowing the little circular plastic piece to snap on to all three fittings in the fuel pump assembly
also, there is a little rubber type cushion fitting that fits between the oem fuel pump and the little circular plastic snap on dealy-supposed to snug up the fit and prevent rattling...
pull the fule pump assembly out and inspect...it'll take you 20 minutes (if it is yer first time)..be careful not to strip the 8 little bolts that hold the metal support ring in place (the thread pitch is odd and difficult to find replacements--i tapped a different thread in those bolts after a few of them had stripped and i gave up on finding the identicle thread pitch and didn't want to order $3+ bolts/each from nissan
anyway, if u need any assistance, feel free to pm me, i'll be happy to walk you through it (as others had walked me through it--once you do it a few times, you are automatically a pro
)

-- Then - the O-Ring from the metal support ring will swell and be difficult
to reinstall.. Here is the trick.
Don't wipe down the O-Ring. Just put it on a paper towel or aluminum foil and stick it in the Freezer. It will keep it from swelling to a larger diameter.
Cheers Amy
