Question For those of you who cut your grill???

Any problems with "support" now that you've gotten a few miles on the car?

Anyone add a chin spoiler (like Nismo) to help? If so, did it do any good??

I ask, because I may cut mine when I install my intercooler. But, my friends bumper is not looking so good since he did his. That was 8K miles ago. He has tracked the car A LOT here in 115+ degree temps. I don't want the same thing happening to mine.

Just curious...

I cut mine off too about two months ago and no problems yet. The new billet grill attaches to the pastic sides - not the grill itself. Gets pretty hot here halfway to Palm Springs but I garage the car.

Wait, let me understand this. You guys are removing the black plastic grill in the front of the car? This improves airflow over the radiator? My grill seems to be pretty unsubstantial, just a few plastic bars that aren't too thick, so I'm not sure I'm understanding why you would do this. Or do the earlier models have a thicker grill?

I know nothing about cars so am hoping to learn...

not really to improve airflow at all...but when you have a sexy front mount intercooler, why would you want to hide it behind those black plastic bars?

not a performance mod, solely for looks

+1! gotta have that chrome FMIC showing. It looks 10 times better after you cut out the black grill. When I had my FMIC installed with the black grill still intact, it didnt look as hot as it does now. I havent had any problems with it, its been over 8 months already. Here is how it looks like with and without the black grill. I am sure you will agree with me that it looks 10 times better!

Exactly! Baddazz is right!! The way our cars SHOULD look!!!

Thanks for the imput. Many people cut their grill for the GReddy TT Kit. The intercooler is a little weirdo. The APS kits fits just right. But, I'm gonna cut my grill anyway so I can be BADDAZZ too.

The guy I know is having all kinds of strange problems with his. Normal cutout. Nothing special. Bottom lip of opening getting all wavy and $h!t. I think it's just the way he parks (or used to park) his car facing the Vegas sun. You know, it is like living in hell here during the summer. Only 116 yesterday...

BRING IT ON!!!

And, mucho again guys/girl...

I turned mine the opposite way so the Spearco logo wasn't showing. Right now I'm running with the front grill in. It's pretty stealthy, unless you're looking at the car from directly in front you can't tell it's boosted.

Next month I'm getting my lip kit installed and plan on cutting the grill and shaving the front emblem.

Anyone got a NISMO front bumper with FMIC???

I don't think you could cut out the center piece and still have the support. Just wondering 'cause that new Aerosync N-Style POLYURETHANE front bumper looks awfully tempting to me. But...

Opinions???
