Default What can I get to increase Torque on Vortech?

Right now I have 3.33 pulley (3.12 coming), plenum spacer, return fuel w/ 440s, borla exhaust. The Mustang dyno showed 268.4lbs@6400. Any suggestions on what to get to increase torque? I would prefer some in the middle of the band, but will take what I can get. I think some of my problem might be in the tune and maybe the spacer? I hit 10.3 a/f and taper back to 11.0 up top.

Might want to start with an EXCELLENT tune. At WOT, work on getting that AF in the mid 11's between 4000 - 6400 RPM. You should see an increase in RWHP and TQ.

With the 3.12 pulley on..and dynoed on a Mustang dyno...350whp and 289trq. You have to remember most all the dyno numbers you see on this and other sites are converted to DynoJet numbers . So most posting 380whp to 420 whp and 300 to 320 trq are dynojet numbers . Mustang Dyno's run 12 to 13 % lower...so add 13% to yours and then compare .Right now , on a Mustang dyno , Im at 13.5 psi and I got 400whp and 319 trq...add 13%...455whp and 345trq. .

I understand about the dynos. I guess I am just looking for more. Either some throughout the curve or maybe another 20-30lbs up top. Hopefully, the 3.12 w/ new tune will help me out. What about headers? I might be able to get a deal on a used set of crawfords. Or even highflow cats / test pipes?

A centrifugal SC will always spin the compressor proportional to the crank's rpms. I was toying with the idea a few years back of rigging a BOV to release some of the compressed air and at the same time using a smaller pulley for high boost.

The easiest way to get more torque would be to add a small shot of Nitrous.

If you want more torque, get a good set of headers. I highly recommend the Crawfords. When I was NA, they made an immediate, obvious difference in my low-rpm grunt. This was reflected in before and after dynos showing low rpm torque gains of 20-30ftlbs in the area between 2000-4000rpm. Can't say how much that holds true on a Vortech car as my Vortech was installed afterwards.

You can do nitrous, but that is asking for trouble. As a friend of mine once described, think of it this way. With SC or TT, there is an analog change in power. It rises quickly, but it doesn't make a harsh switch. With Nitrous, even with a gradual feed, its more like an on-and-off switch (or several small on-and-off switches in a row). You jump from one power level immediately to another... this introduces a shock to your pistons. I think this would be more applicable to a large shot (100hp+), but I think you get the idea.

Seriously, tho... how much wheel spin do you want? It's tough to get traction with the Vortech without looking for even more torque.

Are the pulleys everyone's getting coming from Vortech, or are they all being custom made? so far I've heard of 3.33, 3.12, and 2.87...are these all available from Vortech?

I just want a little more grunt. I've heard that the crawfords give good torque, but wasn't sure if it would apply to FI as well.
