I bet a vented hood + hood spacer would vent pretty good though.

I have the Seibon VT vented hood and the Vizage bumper with nose vent. The under hood temps are still amazingly high.

Run both That's what I'm going to do. Wondering the Seibon TS hood is functional? I mean it has 6 gills( vented ), but does it reduce the temp? Still deciding.

Not sure how much venting the hood will do as the location of the turbo brings alot more heat to the upper part of the engine bay.

Has anyone tried a larger capacity radiator with this kit to see if that would reduce the engine temp?

Engine heat isn't an issue for normal driving. I've driven this thing in rush hour traffic on mid-day florida heat. No problems. It gets hot under the hood but I've never seen my engine temp effected by the turbo.

I'm not sure how tracking the car will effect temp, is that your concern for the hood?

The problem isn't engine temperatures....My water temp gauge doesn't read any differently than before the kit. The problem is the radiated heat from the Turbo charger and the exhaust piping. I'm seriously considering finding some heat shield and attaching it to the underside of my hood to protect the CF and the fiberglass from the heat. It gets to the point now where I can't touch the underside of the hood because it gets so hot.

It sure is fun heatin' things up though!

Yeah, I put some adhesive heat shielding on the inside of the headlight enclosure just cause I had it laying around. I'm not going to bother shielding my stock hood. I'll see what I can do once I get my veilside hood later this year.

We're comming out with a new type of plenum spacer system The Motordyne Iso Thermal plenum spacers... they have design features that allow the whole upper and lower plenum to run much cooler. Its being tested on many Z's and G's and will be released soon.

You can even add the hood spacers if you want. Along with the rest of the engine compartment, it will lower the plenum temperatures even more. I understand that many won't like the look of the hood spacers but they are so effective at reducing under the hood temperatures we will be including them (without charge) with the Iso Thermal plenum spacer kits. 5 min to put them in, and 5 min to take them out. At least you can use them for track days... and it makes a huge difference in under hood temperatures.

There is a lot that can be done for thermal management on the Z.

In regards to heat I was up at Battle of the Imports this weekend in Fontana. Amient temp showed between 100-104 on my temp gauge in car. Even with the AC on full blast and full boosting my car it never overheated. Never had anything fail. Water temp was about 205. Oil temp about 230. Drove for AT LEAST 2 hours in 90+ to get there and another hour of driving around and full boosting while there in 100+ no issues.

What's the price we're looking at for the ISO Thermal Spacers?
