The only thing missing from the list of capabilities that I would still want is the ability to advance/retard the cams. The Motec can do this and so can an ECU reflash. The problem is, no one really knows just yet how this will effect overall performance or how much advance/retard and at what rpm but some people that did work on some M3s had major NA HP gains with just ECU cam adjustments. I think this could be the NA answer for our cars as well. BTW the HP gains on the M3s was about 60-70 rwhp with an exhaust and the ECU cam adjustments. If our NA cars could yield even half that type of gain we could be looking at 310-320 rwhp on highly modified NA Zs, maybe more.

That's one of the key features of the EU, Gurgen. It scales the injectors via injector pulse width reduction, and the MAF remains unchanged. woohoo!!

And be careful if you goto Tony's, as he might might you dig a ditch, or modify his car lift...or some other domestic or mechanical chore.

How long have you had your car running with the EU? Have you noticed any glitches, misfires, etc?

Thanks

Chris

About 3 weeks now...I think. No glitches that I can see...even the software seems pretty stable.

Nice!!!!! The reason I was asking is because when I spoke to oyu last about thsi (when you were still wiring it in) you weren't sure about this. Can't wait... If I don't get the ECU timing figured out, I may very well go this route. Any chance I can check out the programming front end for this, Sharif? Would you email it to me? (la400@gurgen.com)

Good stuff. I do have the latest 1.06 if anyone else needs it. And for those that already have it, please feel free to share it with others.

Just dont get too excited over Mohd's prices, as you have to add 3% to the price, plus shipping...so at times...his prices will look a lot lower than others.

Yeah... I broke a few laws driving home to take delivery...

But the kit is sitting next to my bed for some dirty fantasies tonight... err I mean... I have another thread started....

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/135656-to-f-i-or-not-to-f-i-that-is-the-question.html

I'm thinking of installing the base TT kit, while I wait for $$$ to finish the rest of it. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to pull the engine, or install it with the engine in...

The kicker is... I have EVERYTHING except AAM fuel system, injectors, boost controler, and 02 sensors. I have the $$ for those parts... HOWEVER!!!! I don't have enough for all that, and to have a professional install... So I'm going to have to make a tuff call here... Install as is... And then get the Forged parts in when I have the $$$ or just wait...

I'm leaning to install the turbo kit myself, and then once I've got the cash, get the forged parts installed sometime this winter.

I helped my brother install his turbo on his 240sx so I'm not a total virgin, but it is still intemidating...

Sharif,
Have you received any info on the ECU pinouts for the vehicle speed?

I also deciphered the manual and found these additional pins.
I remember you asking about intake temp.

ECU PIN #'s
34 Intake Temp
73 Water Temp

Is there a difference between pin 106 throttle position and pin 50 throttle position?

Great work...thanks for finding the pins for intake temp and water temp.

In regards to TPS, only use 50. 106 is a different scale. It's kinda like a push/pull setup. You want the signal that is from 0V to whatever...not the other way around. So use 50 for TPS for this wiring applications.

Thanks again!!

Another note to all who had the blue unit hooked up. If you only bought the supplemental harness, you are going to have to re-wire your injector harness. The injector signals are now cut and routed through the EU. The previous setup was just tapping into the wires. I just left the wires that were already hooked up and used them as my injector output wires. Then I cut the injector wires on the Autosport run them into the EU then from the EU out to the original wires that were already hooked up. I was then left with 6 cut wires on the Autosport that are not hooked up, just capped.

I hope this makes sense, if anyone has any questions, just let me know.

Back to the wires...

Thanks Sharif, Pin 50 for the TPS, it is. I found the other pin in the EU manual, it doesn't even mention pin 50.

Thanks for the call today! You probably saved a few people from burnt coils. I started another thread on the topic.

The EU uses the crank to read RPMS? Does it actually advance the crank signal or does it advance the timing as it drives the coils?
