where is the best place to get a vortech kit installed and tuned at in cali? near LA COUNTY?

 

If possible, I would say you should install it yourself to save the money.

 

If you have installed all the stuff in your signature, you can install a vortech kit.

maybe i can install it myself but can i tune it myself....no i cant. and i really dont wanna drive to a shop to have it tuned and blow it up on the way down there. i would just rather have everything done professionaly the first time and have no worries u know what i mean? and yes i have installed everything in my signature but im only 18 so i dont think i should take an FI install on by myself thats for sure.

 

There are plenty of people that install and don't tune, especially not right away. Your point is a valid one, but the car runs ridiculously rich out of the box so it is very safe to drive. If installation cost is of no concern, get it installed and don't hassle with it. I like being able to say I did my own install.

I installed my kit and I have been driving on it for a 16 months and my lazy azz still has not gotten it tuned. NO major problems so far...

I would not automatically assume that because it was installed by a "professional" that it is installed correctly. Also, I think alot of people overlook that fact that not only do you get a great deal of satisfaction from installing it yourself but, you also get a better understanding of how the kit works. With that understanding you are more able to troubleshoot any future problems should they arise. If a shop installs it, you are most likely going to keep going back to them every time "something doesn't seem right" and spending more money.

If you would be more confortable having a shop install it, then go for it. There is nothing wrong with that...

thanks a lot guys i will have to take this into consideration seeing how it would save me 1500+ dollars, but im still debating on this vortech since it is carb approved now and the t-netics not too sure which one to go with just yet
