Default Vortech Intercooler brackets?

Has anyone tapped the intercooler to install a second bracket to keep it from shaking as much? Did it help?

No! Good idea though! I ended up putting a heavy duty "T" suppport that I got from Lowe's on the drivers side, a couple of bend and securing into one of the holes for the plastic shield.

Wish I could get a mount like on the passenger side and secure in the same manner on the drivers side.

That's what I am going to try. Looks like you can tap the drivers side just like the passenger's side. Just have to fabricate the mounting plate.

Why not just leave the installation support plates in?

Now if we could just get Vortech to fabricate a bracket as pictured above! Might try sending this thread to Vortech

I am a sheet metal fabricator, if you guys send me a bracket, I can duplicate it for you. It would really only be worth it though to make at least 20. Send me a pm if your interested.

How long would it take to fabricate? Might be worth ordering from Vortech and sending to you for fabrication. I am sure there are many out there that are experiencing this problem. Twenty (20) should not be a problem. It IC does vibrate and doesn't hang level with just the support on the one side.

It would take a couple weeks to fabricate. I just dont want to make these, and have to sit on a bunch of them. If someone sends me some pics of the bracket, and some dimensions, I can work on a price to see if its worth it. Just remember, the higher the quantity, the cheaper they will be.

See the post by jimRHIT above. The one on the passenger side in the pic comes with the kit. Would need to fabricate the one on the driver's side. Several holes and bends. Still would be better to order one for Vortech unless someone on this site has one laying around.

Nobody ever did anything. If someone wants to send me one, I can make opposites of it. I am not gonna go order one. But I would be more than happy to help you guys out. Someone get me some dimensions and pics, and I will price it out.

We need to find someone who has a "Z" Vortech SC that is awaiting installation and is willing to send support for fabrication. I am in as soon as this happens!

On the 2 that I have installed, I have used the leftover zip tie anchors that you use to relocate the power steering cooler to anchor the drivers side of the intercooler to the radiator and avoid movement that way.
