APS Crank Angle Wiring Info
I was messing around with the shift light in my car and I was trying to move it from a fuel injector signal to the crank angle sensor. I found the right wire and put my o'scope on it and couldn't get a signal.
I knew that the APS included a shielded crank angle sensor wire, but I was NOT aware that the APS system completely abandons the stock wire. The new shielded wire goes directly in to the Unichip. To tap this signal I had to strip back the insulation and the shielding. Inside I found three wires:
Green: 12vdc
Brown: Ground?? *Never checked it
White: Crank Angle Signal
I hooked my shift light up to the white wire and reprogramed the shift light and all works perfectly.
