You need to state what you want from a BOV. The APS BOV is fine...works the way it should. Are you wanting the "loudest" BOV you can get? Then you will want something other than the APS.

I read in another thread that you were buying an APS kit. The APS blow off valve is a fantastic unit. It vents back into the intake for low pressure releases to eliminate lag between shifts and vents to the intake and atmosphere on higher pressure releases, which makes a nice agressive Blow off valve sound while under more than half throttle. The APS BOV IS an "aftermarket" unit. Since this car obviously isn't turbo from the factory.

i actually got rid of my recirculation, i just capped off the port into the turbo inlet, and mine now vents to air. the APS is a good unit but i wanted something a litle more noticeable, plus i dont like the ps ps ps, id rather have a single wooosh. so i went with a little louder bov, the turbo xs rfl.

i was told you might get stalling issues if you had a bov that vents into the atmoshpere. you getting anything like that on yours tig? also, did you have to weld a new flange on to your charge pipe to fit the turbo xs bov?

Give us what you are looking for out of a BOV....what system are you connecting it to (size turbo, psi, etc)?

As for the APS BOV.....very pleased with it......but really it is part of a system, and it works well with it......and does a good job introducing itself.....ie "you hear me now?"......

nope not 1 stall yet, the car runs identical to when it was recirculating. it shouldnt matter because the bov is before the maf. some cars have it after which can cause you to run lean between shifts, i think? correct me if im wrong on that. anyway, the recirc port is SO far away from the turbo (on the single) that the purge of air from the bov shouldnt even reach the turbo between shifts, ie shouldnt affect anything. even on the tt, it only dumps into one turbo inlet, so again it shouldnt affect anything.

as far as fitting it on, i believe the turbo xs one has a 1 1/4 tube that will slide into place using the same silicone coupler the aps one uses. but if needed ill get one welded on.

If it is after the MAF it causes a rich condition due to fuel being metered for air that has escaped the system. Thats what causes the backfiring on some cars during gearchanges. Sounds cool if you ask me!

Interested to see how people change this on the kit. I must admit, I have thought about this. I do like the sound of the standard one, but their are some nice sounding BOV's out there, and I would like it a little louder.

Any TT guys running different BOV's???? (APS)

Yes, as long as you mount the blowoff valve before the MAF you are good to vent it to the atmosphere (I have never seen one of our cars with a bov after the MAF). But 3000GT VR-4's have always had a bad problem with stumbling between shifts with an atmospheric bov. Their MAF is the first thing the air goes through after the filter.

I had a greddy RS welded on while the kit was being installed. Great sound, had some stalling issues in the beginning but tightening the screw helped that out.
