I have the Vortech..in stock forum , 3.33 pulley you can make 320whp 290trq. ..3.12 pulley..350whp 300trq...you see bigger numbers from both pulleys , but they are from Dynojet dyno's . Its a bit noisy...whistle from the BOV ...some hate it ,some dont mind it , some like it . If you replace the serp belt that comes with the kit , make sure its tight , retighten it a week later ...no problems . You can even go one more pulley smaller [ 2.87 ] and add 20 to 30 more hp . The blower itself can be upgraded to a T-trim like I have done with a built block . I making 13.5 psi at 6300rpm now , but the intercooler is holding me back right now...upgrades coming soon

Thanks lexuss 33 and hopefully that gets us back on the topic of the 5AT. That being said, all have made some good points and it's better to have too much info versus not enough.

I want to make another point. The mods made to the 5AT depend on what you want to do with the car. If you're looking to do alot of drag racing or "off the line" kind of stuff, you'll definitely want to upgrade the VB, TC, increase rev limiter and add a tranny cooler. Heck, you may just want to get the SGP automatic race tranny which is good for about 700-800 whp.

However, if you're not going to abuse it as much you may get away with a VB upgrade and ECU reflash for the random "thrill of boost."

On another note bumping the revlimiter to 7100 will help with not bumping off the rev limiter.
Mia, in my case I still hit it occasionally at 7100rpm in auto mode. I believe Cesar (APS TT) was/is having the same issue even after the reflash.

booger, what's been your experience at WOT in auto mode for 1-2 and 2-3 shifts? How did you get the rev limit raised to 7200rpms - TS reflash?

thanks,
ron

We did this on Ron's car, and it still bumps in 1st and sometimes in 2nd. 3-5th are fine. At 400whp....I think he'd be well served with a valve body upgrade, to speed up the shifts.

Thats why I went to 7200rpm..shifts fine , unless the tires break loose , then I hit it

Hmm I'll let Turbonetics know about this...maybe they can change that on the 5AT flash...

Some good info guys so far..

So far, members here with 5AT's with Turbo or SC's...

1. Jonezzz / APS ST
2. Roncfpz / Greddy TT
3. GMADD / Greddy TT
4. Baileyrx / ATI Procharger
5. Booger / Vortech (G35)

Keep it going...

MIAPLAYA, if you have any pull over at TN or know them you should suggest that rev limiter issue maybe they can in fact put that in their next round of flashes and make an even better flash designed for the 5AT...

Guys what do you think the most important thing is after the kit is installed and WHY? Rank in terms of importance for a "normal" AUTOMATIC driver, not a track car pushing the limits all the time and dragging every chance he can but more for the normal driver who will just on occasion beat the car next to him just to laugh, haha.

Valve Body
Tranny Cooler
Torque Converter
Raise Rev Limiter beyond the Flash that TN gives you...

I also have the 5AT and Vortech, I am having the L flash done next week along with a few other mods. I have to say that it drives just like it was never modified, just like the day I bought it.
I am def. getting the SGP VB upgrade next year but do not see the need for the TC yet. Hoping for 441- 450rwhp at the next dyno tune( 2weeks).

What does that car run in the 1/4? Or the 1/8?

I don't have his latest times but I think hes in the mid to high 12s IIRC. Not sure if that was on street tires or not. AS for the flash the flash for the 5AT car is made SPECIFICALLY for the 5AT car. The 6MT car does not have a rev limiter bump. They told me that they did not have any issues bouncing off the limiter in auto mode by setting the limiter to 7100 but I will give them the new info I got today tomorrow morning.

Hey Robert, to Booger's point, it might more of an issuse of tire slip at a higher power level. If the tires dont break loose, I imagine it will shift normally, or close to it, with a 7100rpm limit But at 400whp, for instance, on Ron and KShep's cars..the tires would break loose in 1st and 2nd gear prior to shift. Ron's car had the rev limit increase, but KShep's did not...so I wasnt expecting his car to shift very nicely.

Let me add two items to your list......others feel free to chime in on the ranking.

(1)BRAKES...
(2)suspension upgrades.

Good call...I'll pass it all along either way and see if they have any feedback for us...

We got six guys on the board so far...nice little crowd. We are the others hiding at.

1. Jonezzz / APS ST
2. Roncfpz / Greddy TT
3. GMADD / Greddy TT
4. Baileyrx / ATI Procharger
5. Booger / Vortech (G35)
6. ACG / Vortech (G35)

Thing to consider for us 5AT's going SC or Turbo. In no particular order "YET"...

Valve Body
Tranny Cooler
Torque Converter
Raise Rev Limiter beyond the Flash that TN gives you...
Suspension Upgrades
Bigger Brakes
