Exclamation another Emanage Ultimate question...asap!

Is it completely mandatory to run the ignition harness on the EU? Its already dark here and I have it all wired up except the ignition harness. If I could drive on it tommorow to work and then finish the ignition part after work, that would be most crucial.

I already plugged everything back in and set up the parameter stuff, scaled the injectors, and entered all the info from the Greddy TT base map...so I start the car and it starts up fine, but the wideband is reading like 16.5 at a idle of around 1200rpm, then it starts to drop down to ~14.7 and 800 rpm and the engine starts to stumble and I don't know why. Also, the EU is not picking up an RPM signal when I click to datalog?

I pretty much have to drive the car to work tommorow, so any help asap would be great.

you don't need to have it hooked up to drive around. i am actually currently running my car like that for doing some testing.
did you check "crank angle" in the parameters and do the 1.06 update?

just don't activate any timing maps and you won't get any ignition trouble codes on the eu.

thanks for the info again overzealous, i changed the thing to crank angle and the rpm's work now, but for some reason it still idles like crap.

I actually downloaded the 1.08 upgrade from mohdparts.com, could that be a problem?

Also, what maps need to be on? All I have on is Airflow Adjustment and Boost Limiter Cut Setting (the only things that were on in the blue emanage)

Also, what is the proper way to setup the injector scaling feature. All I did was put the injector change of 280 to 440, but didn't mess with the other stuff. ????

i have the airflow, boost limiter cut, i/j adj. map, accel adj. map, and a/f target maps selected. my eu seems to be dropping 2-3 cylinders for some reason so i have the ignition wires by passed back to stock and will be sending it off to sharif to test on his car to see if he gets the same results. it has been a battle i have been fighting ever since i installed it.
don't choose the timing maps till you get the ignition harness hooked up. or it will try to look for the signals and through up incorrect signal trouble codes on the eu.
as far as the idle prob, i am going to assume you were running the preprogrammed e blue with the greddy kit. the eu will have no programming in it at all. but it shouldn't change your idle i would assume.
i just saw the 1.08 update and am going to download tonight, do you know what it is?

Ok, so I saw the SES light come on, so I put the car into diagnostic mode and got a code 300 (random multiple misfires) which makes sense why it would idle like crap and the A/F being all over the place, but if I don't even have the timing control hooked up why would it do this?

I really need to drive this car in the morning....

you have just entered the ominous po300 code most of us are dealing with occasionally. try clearing the code and see if it comes back.
you may have just helped diagnose the problem a little by now knowing it does not have to do with the ignition portion of the eu.
did you set the correct injector sizing in the parameters section? stock, then current size?

yes, I changed the injector sizing, I will go try and clear the code and see if I can figure anything else out.

EDIT: just cleared the code, it hasn't come back yet, but still Idling like 18:1 A/F and rough as hell.

kinda off topic but how do you communicate with the EU? I have dowloaded the lastest V1.08 and I can't communicate. When I hook up my lap top to the EU and I go to communicate I can't choose any off the options in that field.

I am calling you now. I'll help.

For now, zero out the injectors scaling, and do a global airflow adjustment of -30%
You can play with the injector scaling later, but this will get the car running for now.

Make sure on your boost limiter cut screen, all the values are 5.0V for now.

When you connect the USB cable, does a dialogue pop up that says "communicate in real-time"? Once that occurs, click yes, and then goto Import Data from eManage. This will upload the data from the emanage onto your screen. Then you can save it or do whatever.
