The numbers are the rwtq figures you are putting out as a function of RPM; when you show x on your rev counter you are generating y of rwtq at the wheels. (Well pretty close anyway - there may be slightly different transmission losses in one gear vs another and the numbers are probably measured on the dyno in 4th or 5th?)

With different gearing you will be at a different RPM for a fixed roadspeed - so in that sense, yes it does make a difference (for example, the acceleration seen will vary between a 6MT and 5AT even if the car generates the same rwtq vs RPM).

For wheel and tyre size and weight yes, different wheels will have a different mass, diamater and hence different moment of inertia (MI). The (rotational) acceleration seen by the wheel (and hence which translates into straightline acceleration on the road) depends on the rwtq and also MI, according to the equation

rwtq = MI x rotational wheel accn
where MI - function(wheel and tyre mass, wheel diameter)

Translating that rotational wheel accn into straightline also depends of course on traction (so friction, stiction, slip etc come into play)

Thta's my take on it anway

Can you tune for both when the ECU has been flashed and all timing (which was in the S.S.) is now in the ECU. Fuel mapping remains in the S.S.

Terry,

Did they tell you that your clutch was slipping up top? That's what I was told and I had the same 'blip' in my graph like you have.

Didn't you just get a new tranny? What about the clutch, is it new too?

TIA

The Vortech kit could do that not with the head unit that comes with the kit, but the S-trim, T-trim and even JT-trim the JT-trim is capability of pushing 30psi, we have the same head unit on mustangs which produce over 800hp. I am not sure if you could run the stock hood with a JT trim but it would deff be an awesome setup to see with a built motor.

Yep....I have a brand new tranny and clutch.
No slippage that I know of.....CPR said the stock clutch is good for about 450 Hp....normal street use, unless you are tracking the car a lot.

Wow do you mean whp, when you think of the parasitic losses running the S/C that gives an astronomic crank torque (hp) and associated stress.

someone at vortech told someone once to not upgrade to an S-trim blower unless they're building up the engine...not sure if that holds any weight or not

CPraceZ did mention 'built motors'; it's just shocked me that you can buy (can you?) a S/C kit that can deliver 30 psi boost. That comes wih all sorts of ancilliary requirements on the engine, drivetrain etc of course, just the number that surprised me

I,m laying the ground work to install a 172 cubic inch procharger on my FX-35
it would make 8 pounds of boost on a 5.7 liter small block chevy. and 24 pounds of boost on a 3.5 liter VQ. Buying stock pullies, the setup will get 10.3 pounds of boost at a minimum. (46% overdrive)

the Sc-trim Vortech can definately make well into the 500s of RWHP.

A t-trim would be nasty, and I just saw they now have some other trim for the V2 that is even more powerful.

I got mixed up. The one I was thinking of is the V2 SQ E-trim..capable of 750 HP. It is a little smaller than the T-trim (up to 825 hp) although they both flow the same CFM (1200). The larger blower capable of up to 1000 hp is the V7 JT-trim. I believe that is the largest counter-clockwise rotation blower that vortech offers.

here is the blower matrix chart:
