GReddy TT on 2005 5AT...the good, the bad, and the ugly!
The Good:
Sharif from Forged Internals and Eric & Co. from CP Racing. All were extremely helpful, informative, and patient with me. I'm very glad I made the trip to and from Charlotte....well worth it. Excellent installation and tune. CP Racing modified my Greddy EVO2 exhaust to a true dual (eliminate the Y-pipe) and help reduce some back pressure they have been finding in that exhaust. They did an outstanding job. (Don't have pics yet.) I'll post the dyno sheets shortly, but here are the numbers:
401whp / 340trq @ 8psi and 93 octane.
The car is transformed. We had TS reflash the ECU to raise the rev limiter to 7100rpms. I believe if traction held the shifts in auto mode would be good. However, the tires tend to break loose and it's bouncing off the limiter. Need to practice more in manual mode, but again traction is an issue even with big 285 Michelins in the rear. When cruising in 4th gear and then punch it....look out 'cause the auto downshifts right away and the boost kicks in instantly and you are launched. I really think people do not give enough credit to the 5AT.
The Bad:
I get back Saturday nite from Charlotte just ahead of Hurricane Wilma and all is good. I clean her up Sunday before the sh&t hits the fan and park in the garage til the storm passes. I take her out for some fun yesterday and toy around with my nephew and his STI. I'm on my way to the office this a.m. loving life and sure enough some idiot in a left turn only lane decides she wants to make a right instead and nails the side of my car. The whoe driver side is a mess; front fender, door, rocker, rear quarter, etc.
Luckily, of course, I'm fine (and her too ) as well as my turbo kit, wheels, BBK, etc. Now for the true irony, I finally get my tracking # today for my Do-Luck bodykit that I've been waiting patiently for many months. Aaaahhhhhh!! Bodyshop estimate about $5300 and 4 weeks of waiting, again.
And The Ugly:
Look what she did to my car!

I'm sure Sharif can explain the details of the tune, but the charts paint a pretty picture. He is an awesome tuner and Eric and CP Racing are an excellent shop. Great job guys!
Here are the dyno sheets and a pic of my good side now. At least they can install the bodykit at the same time they repair the damage. Now the waiting game begins........

Oh no RON!!!!!!!! I am so sorry to hear about the accident.
Glad you are happy with the performance of the car....now lets get that thing fixed up, with the addition of the Do-Luck kit, and a full body paint job. Maybe this was a sign from the heavens...that you should repaint the entire car....to avoid mismatched body kit paint???? Just trying to put a positive spin on things.

Hey all.....thanks for the kind and reassuring words. I know you all can relate to how we feel about these "project" cars.
Sharif, I was thinking the same thing. It was pretty funny getting the tracking number right after it happened. I has "forced" me to be patient and take it to the right shop for the bodykit install and paint job.
I do believe it may be time for a daily driver though since this car will be sittin' pretty low with that kit.
Thanks again! I'll keep you all posted.

She's back and more beautiful than ever!
Well it's been a long 2 months but the car is finally back and looking better than ever. The final damages for the accident....about $8k....paid by my insurance co. The good news is that MetLife paid for 2 new Maya wheels even though they were only slightly scuffed in the accident and the shop fixed them. This gave me an "extra" $1800 towards the body kit install and complete car paint job.
The entire driver side was replaced and the Do-Luck bodykit and Veilside V3 hood installed and entire car painted factory chrome silver. The shop used 3 coats each of paint and clearcoat.....big improvement over factory!
Time to enjoy the TT now..........whooooooosh! Here's a few pics.
