Before I get heat for for not doing previous thread review, I would like to state that I did and did not get my question answered. I am trying to decide whether or not to include JWT cams into my longblock design (maybe a year after I go FI, which is in the spring). I have absolutely no plans to go past 500-550 whp. I do undertand that improved flow with upgraded cams will allow me to run less boost to achieve same whp, which may result in me being able to run higher compression ratio. No this is what I am still trying to figure out:
How much difference in terms of turbo spool-up time will this improved flow mean? (I will be doing the port/polish/gasket match/upgraded intake manifold either way).
Will it be a major difference in PSI with or without the cams? (1-2 PSI does not seem to be worth the $1200 extra, right?)
If I am to keep stock cams, should I look into upgraded valve springs/guides/retainers just for extra reliability?
And just in case, I will be using the Turbonetics ST for 5AT.
Thank you for help.
