I remember reading that Quaife made the LSD to fit the auto rear - thinking that all of the diffs were the same. So this may be a possibility?? Apparently there is no noise or popping issues with the Quaife...

the auto final drive will fit in the 6MT housing, then you put an aftermarket LSD in it. Yes it's more expensive vs getting a 5AT pumkin, but it's the only way to get the normal 6MT LSD's for it.

BTW the ATS LSD to my knowledge is the only one that only works with the stock 3.5 final drive and nothing else

the quaife (which i have installed on my base with my turbo) is great. going from an open diff to this thing was incredible. no noise whatsoever. it's actually designed to fit on the base model, no stub axles needed like with the other models.

Tell that to Phunk or anybody that hits limiter often in a FI Z...

Thumbs up

ok I take it back

hitting the rev limiter with FI is in fact a great thing to do and surely must be the faster way to drive

Having it happen because of a loss of traction is awesome as well.

What do you guys do about it? Honestly, what good is it to get an APS TT (example) and not get any traction. DOesn't it makes sense to go Vortech, make less power and still have traction? Or do all FI kits create traction issues?

Usually the twin turbos or single turbo lose traction a bit easier than the SC. B/c the tq comes on so quickly when the turbos spool its not as linear as a Supercharger. But either way as much horsepower FI kits put out traction will be an issue just get a lsd and some sticky tires and have fun.

I just got back in from driving my Z for the last hour... (I have a BASE TT Z) (That doesn't make much sense huh.)

I break traction CONSTANTLY now that I've changed out my flywheel. (I guess I was right on the edge.)

I'm dropping my car off on Friday to get the Quaife installed. (HOPEFULLY) I bought the 3.3 ring gear/pinion/bolts/etc + the Quaife so I'm hoping to drop my gear ratio as well as install a Quaife all @ once.

I'll let you know if it helps much... My car does much better with two fat asses in it.

I got the ring gear/pinoin/etc for 500 bucks... The quaife was 1400 I believe and install is going to be another 500.

So 2400 bucks later (Yeah, not the cheapest route that is for sure.) I hope that I can keep my rear under me. (I use an after market RaceLogic for traction control... So while the VDC guys flip it off... I have 5 levels of adjustment for differt tolerances and I just pick how much slide I want.)
