Default any cheaper injector alternative?

Hey, Im looking for some injectors, somewhere around 550cc. Has anyone tried fitting top feeds from other cars and make them work with slight modification. I do not have $450-500+ to spend so maybe aftermarket DSM, Supra or other injectors can work without much modification. Im going to try and get my hands on a DSM injector and see how close the fit will be but I just want to know if anyone has already tried. Any help would greatly be appeciated. Thanks.

just curious, but if you don't have the money for the injectors, how did you have the money to modify the car to need them? btw, most other top feeds will work, but depending on the style you may have to grind a little on the manifold to make the fuel rails fit. plus different clips.

I imagine you can get a lot of injectors to "fit", but the RC VQ35 specific injectors have the proper nozzle length, orifice location, spray pattern, and delta. I am not aware of any DSM or Toyota injectors that are large enough to pass as 550cc.

I know someone was going to mention about why I cannot afford injectors but I am using them in a custom turbo setup on a VQ30DE-K motor in a Maxima. This motor has the exact same injectors as a VQ35 350Z. As for DSM and Toyota injectors, I was refering to aftermarket ones made for them which are cheaper then buying injectors that are 350Z specific.

Well if you are going with aftermarket injectors why not just use the RCs? At $550 for a set of 6 for 550ccs I imagine you aren't going to get much cheaper.

ok, i'm not trying to be an a-hole. but on the 350z site, we are going to know more about the 350z specific injectors, aftermarket or stock. have you tried the maxima forum. may get alot better targeted results there. you may find a set of used ones on ebay for cheap. most all top feed injectors are the same diameter, but with the z manifold and fuel rail design, there is a limited height that can be used. not sure about the maxima set up.

reread my post, need to clarify. same diameter as far as the hole needed for the injector and o-ring to seal. i know, i had to special order the drill bit to make my own fuel rails.

I am willing to sell a brand new set(6) of Bosch 550 injectors that came with my APS TT kit for $250 so I can buy RC 650's.

Keep in mind that to run those Bosch injectors and actually get 550cc of fuel delivery you need to run like 65 PSI of fuel pressure.

The Seimens Deka injectors that I have are used in 03 Cobras and have the correct dual spray pattern. They are approximately 630cc injectors for much less than the RC equivalent. Here's a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sieme...spagenameZWD1V They fit domestic injector clips(same kind that come with the Greddy TT kit) and have the correct orifice height.
Hope I helped.

Thanks for all the replys.

For the RC 550cc at $550, its not that bad but I it would help me out a lot if I could find something cheaper that will do the same job. On a turbo Honda that I worked on, we used stock DSM 450cc injectors which cost about $40 shipped, the diameter was bigger so we had to do some dremeling on the o-rings but they work great and do the same job for $250 less. I know I am not going to find injectors for $40 but im looking to spend under $450.

On the maxima site, there is not as much info, a lot less boosted Maximas running top feeds. I swapped in a newer 00-01 motor which has side feed and there is not that many that have boosted this motor using bigger injectors. Most people use a FMU and boost up the fuel psi, like the Vortech kit does for you guys (correct me if I am wrong). I was not aware that your intake manifold gives you limited height so I will take a look at mine to see how much room I have.

theking, that was a big help to hear you were able to fit those. How did they fit with the diameter? Did you have to do any modication besides clips to make them fit?

No modifications besides the clips and the fuel rail spacers. I'm running the AAM fuel system. These fit in the same as the RC440's which I was using previously.

those 60lb siemens deka injectors are the same ones i am running too. i modified my stock fuel rails for my return system and had some height problems with them. but in kings case, he is using the aam fuel rails and they must be shaped perfectly to allow for the extra height with no mods. sorry to answer that for ya king, but i remember talking alot with ya about this when you upgraded.

My rear injectors have the intake manifold over them but there is enough room for the injectors to clear. What spacers are you using exactly, any pics if possible?

the seimens deka style injectors are about 3/8-1/2 inch longer than the stock ones. the rc injectors are the same height i believe, but has a bigger body than the stock Z ones.
