Default Turbonetics Kicks @ss

I just got back from my TN install. This thing rocks. It's insanely fast. This thing is fun, but this much power demands respect. Sweeeeet !!

Some strange things though. At 2900rpm I have a vibration. It might be a harmonic vibration since the exhaust was changed. Anyone else have this?

I also have a multiple misfire code. Not a big deal. Would like to not have it obviously.

There is a strange hicup at 6100rpm. It showed on the dyno as well. Sudden drop/rise in HP and torque and rise in A/F ratio. Any ideas?

The car dyno'd 366hp, and 370 ftlb. No mods other than a 22lb clutch and flywheel.

On the plus side.... on the highway my mpg went up about 4 miles per gallon. On the downside I lose it back becasue boosting is fun.

Are you running any engine management.. was the car tuned with the stock ecu or was it the flashed maps? Alot of people just run there cars like that and live with it. But some have resolved it with a propper tune.

Its common on the Z/G with the turbonetics. No one has seem to figure it out including Shariff

This is why I am probably going with the same kit

Pretty good answers. As for the Mutli Cylinder Misfire it seems all Zs and especially 04+ get this code very often. I know Brad told me that Turbonetics is looking to get a car in the shop that is throwing this code and basically lock the guys in the shop till they figure out what is causing this

Congrats on the kit thought...hope you enjoy.

Hi Matt,

The car is great. Thanks for doing a great job. I am very happy.

However reads this..... CP Racing is the place to go for FI installs. These guys are proffesionals. No matter where you are it's well worth the drive. These issues above have nothing to do with the install, and are common with the Z and FI. Bobby was a Nissan mechanic, and knows the car as well as anyone, Eric is the man tunning, and Matt... well I don't know what the hell Matt does really. I think he finds out what everyone wants for lunch and orders takeout.

Thanks for the ducksauce Matt and turbocharging my Z

All this Turbonetics talk is making me crazy! I need my kit installed ASAP. My car is going in on Thursday the 17th and I can't wait anymore.

JETPILOT congrats on the install. I'm sure your car is so much more fun now. Do you plan on any upgrades soon?

No.... No more upgrades for a while. Christmas is comming. Need to save for the wife. She definetly deserves soemthing special this year. I spent $15,000 on the car so far. All for my gready man needs.

This thing is as fast as it needs to be. Maybe some brakes, and sway bars next year.

This is really good to hear. Glad you are enjoying your new found power. And yeah it appears Forged Internals and CP Racing are quickly becoming the premier tuners for the Z in the country. Have fun with it but be safe out there. And btw every shop needs a food order taker.

I guess the inside joke is that you have to know that Matt and his familly own the shop. Soooo MAtt is upper managment there. CEO or some sh*t like that. The business would fail if he missed a single day of work. That's how important he is.

GO TO CP RACING IN NC. FOR YOU FI INSTALL OR DIE !!!!

My CEL light went out all by itself...... go figure. Is that supposed to happen ??

yeah its the 0300 Multi Cylinder Misfire code that is unfortunately plaguing all the Zs and 04 and ups the worst. Turbonetics is going to get a car in the shop soon to work on it till they have a solution. Unfortnately its not kit specific. There are people getting this code N/A and some 05s get it bone stock.

i got to drive my TN Z for almost a 1000 miles before deploying overseas and never got a light. not saying that i won't get one in the future or anything, it still could happen. do you drive your car hard on a daily basis? curious. i don't so maybe that is why.

Thanks for the info.

Yes.... Rocky the shop dog is awesome !!! I would never trust a shop that didn't have a shop dog. He's a big teddy bear.

I'll "+ whatever" the comments above. When I came to pick my car up, Sharif as well as many of the CP Racing guys were off at SEMA. I was still picked up at the airport and they had my car ready to go, clean and everything. It was great doing business there.

Saw your car....CLEAN install. That AAM oil pan spacer and beefy -8 oil return line was just awesome. The mechanics at CPR always go a few steps further than normal.

And great numbers. Did you mention that you have a stock exhuast? I was really pleasantly surprised with the out of the box power...given the stock muffler. Enjoy!

And yes, the misfire code is very common, as is that dip at 6000rpm. You may also get a periodic CEL for the catalyst as well.
