I installed mine a couple months ago. Its a very straight forward install.
The only problem I had was a torn o-ring in the fuel rail extender...easy fix. I've put around 1200 miles on it...runs great and no problems.

I have the instructions if you want to read up on the install before you get it. I dont have a scanner but I can fax them to you.

thats a hard choice but good one i would be fighting between that kit and the TN kit but i do like how the superchager is a safe plug and play system. make sure you take some pics. Other thing you may want to buy is a boost gauge and egt wide band a/f.

Why someone thinks a SC is "safe" is beyond me.

My advise is to the orginal poster is, double and triple check your work, and if you have a good tuner around you, get it tuned beyond the out of box tune it comes with.

Did you do it yourself or have someone else? I'm debating the install...I'll PM you with my fax number as reviewing the instructions beforehand would definitely help me make up my mind. Much thanks for the offer.

I had to choose something. I debated the straight turbo kit for a little while...and while I am not stating which one is safer, it would at least appear the SC is somewhat more reliable/less maintenance then the other. However the tradeoff is the 'ceiling' you hit with a SC and losing the ability to 'tweak' as you could with a straight turbo setup. More to come on the subject I'm sure...

Agreed. I definitely want it tuned right. I'm torn between doing the install myself, then taking it to a local shop for proper tuning afterwards or just letting them do it altogether. I am by no means a mechanic, but used to have an Eclipse GST and had no problems getting my hands dirty and taking on whatever mods I could do myself. I suspect once I get the install instructions in hand, I will have a better idea...Thanks for the advice.

ZIVMAN,

I think the previous poster was referring to the Stillen S/C Stage II as being a VERY SAFE unit, which it DEFINITLY is! PLUS, if you find a way to tune the Stillen unit beyond what the factory supplies you with them by all means let me know! I have been on the phone with Stillen and SEVERAL Good tuners who say that the Stillen unit is tuned to its best right out of the box since it adds the Split- Second unit as a piggyback to the OEM ECM.

We installed it here at my house...here's a link to a thread I started awhile back.
If you order the Stillen be prepared to wait 7-8 weeks to get it.

Thanks much for the thread link. You might just regret showing it to me though, 'cause now I might have to PM you if I get into trouble doing it myself! BTW...car looks tight for sure.

Peace,

I got mine in 5 days by telling them I had to have it cause I had already paid for time at my installers shop and I could not get a refun if I didn't have it installed on the days I paid for.

i wasnt saying that it safer then a turbo i said the kit is safe its power is pretty low and the slit second box they provide does the job for its application. some turbo kits there is a need for additional tunning. some people just dont want all the problems with install and down the road wih turbo since i have own one my self im use to the little problems that come along with a turbo. not talking crap just trying to help the guy out.

I have a stillen stage 2 also. I love it. I asked the guy at stillen after my install what I should ask, He said just have fun. I have for 8000 miles in 4 months. I can't stop driving it. All I want to do is look for a reason to drive places. It feels alot more powerful. So in the advice of the stillen installer. HAVE FUN!
