So keep the stillen exhaust ,get the reverse Y-pipe made and it should put down better numbers. I know TurboNetics says that the stock exhaust has more HP gains over aftermarket. So why do you think the Stillen would put down better numbers?

Everyone that has posted before and after dynos has shown an increase in power somewhere with a aftermarket exhaust that is either dual modified or 3" back.

I don't understand why TN would say that the stock exhaust would be better. I understand why the stock manifolds are better for turbo lag but I don't see why stock exhaust would be better than a good 3" turbo exhaust.

that's something I didn't understand either.. I bet they're talking about a Nismo style 3" with a dual tip canister...

I can see how that can create similar back pressure to stock whereas a straight through like the JIC Spartan would make more power from more free flow and no bends.

OK, so even though it is a true dual there should be enough back pressure to make good power with a reverse Y-pipe

with a turbo car, you want the least back pressure possible..

back pressure is only good for NA cars for low end torque

with a turbo, if you could have no exhaust at all, you'd make the most whp. But of course, it'd be loud as hell.. so you want to most free flowing largest diameter possible exhaust with the least amount of bends.

No there will be LESS backpressure. In a turbo car backpressure is the enemy. YOU DON'T WANT BACKPRESSURE It is the DEVIL

So just stick with the Stillen TD bacause it was a lot less back pressure than the stock.

Go 3-1/2 custom single exhaust that way you have less back pressure. Turbo's should run single exhaust anyways.

I had a TT Rx7 before and also had a big change in HP with just a down pipe and exhaust. Almost .6 tents off the 1/4. It is because the Rx7 has a very restrictive down pipe and exhaust system. The 350z has a pretty good stock system.

hell yes you do

you were the one saying you gotta be fast.. but forgot one thing: there is always someone even faster

haha

on serious note, you can look at the turbo drag or any type of race cars, you'll notice how the exhaust plumbing is the quiest, largest and straightest possible, mostly right out of the turbo to the fender or underneath the car.

The faster you get rid of the exhaust gas after the turbo, the quickest it will spool, the better it will hold boost and the most power it will make. Backpressure is your enemy, there is not ifs or buts about it. Normally aspirated is a totally different story though.

true.. the largest and the less bends the better. It's just how much of exhaust noise can you get away with. You gotta worry about in cabin noise and of course your city's best!
