Default Cryo-treating

Does anyone know of any specialty shops who specialize in automotive applications......and have a good reputation?? I have been doing some research on this and the consensus seems to be a 15-20% increase in strength of the part after treatment. Apparently the heating and cooling sequences are extremely important for the process to work correctly, so an experienced shop is essential.

umm I think the metal becomes a little more brittle when you cryo treat something. So people reccommend shot-penning the stuff afterwards.

Exactly.....any research I have done says that there is no chnage in the brittleness of the metal being treated.

I've heard Jeff does great work. I know quite a few folks that have his brake rotors.

Its a common treatment of benchrest rifle shooters looking to get that last 1/10th of an inch worth of accuracy. They do not do anything else to their rifles afterwards. I doubt people would be shooting high power rifle competition with brittle rifles.
