Default Turbo problem with 2005 ( wideband sensor )

We got the turbonetic on about 5 months ago. First when we sent the ECU back to turbonetic, they came back and said that because the car was a 2005, all sensor were wideband and their software for the ecu reflash would'nt work.

Then they send the ECU to Technosquare and installed a "safe" software because the new one wasn't tested yet. So far so good we received also from turbonetic a 5psi wastegate spring to keep it on low pressure and to avoid running to lean or too rich and having engine problem.......

NOW.. turbonetic called us and they have the new software for it, but we're upgrading all the internal this winter ( cam, valve, rod, pulley, head stud ) and run 15-16 psi next spring.

We will have a computer installed on the car with a keyboard ( for multimedia purpose and ecu tuning at same time ). We need a stand alone for 2005+ for wideband sensors. What are my options ?? E-MANAGE, AEM.. or what else ?? and why.

Thank you.
Eric

I would wait to see how the utec pans out and probably run that. I wouldn't consider emanage or aem for my car. Your other options wold be unichip or the new aps EMS that will be released. Since you have the luxury of time, wait and see what comes of the utec

Utec is alright, I'd run a return fuel system with an emanage, get the ignition harness as well. I'd have the factory ECU returned to stock settings with raised rev limit and no speed govenor. There's another great piggyback system in the works, some of the engineers that use to work for Electromotive (TEC III) are finalizing it for the 350Z's.

HKS F-Con V-pro gets my vote.

Do a search for standalone systems. This issue has been done to death.
AEM will not have a plug-n-play unit out anytime in the near future. (read: years)
The question become do you want the stock gauges to work and all of the creature comforts. CC,VDC,etc...
No one has a system out that allows everything to work. The closest is Motec, but there is price penalty.

How aggro are you going w/ the motor? If your just running a mid-sized single setup I'd suggest the EU or UTEC. Both of these piggybacks will be able to accomplish what you are looking for.

Since no one has the specs(voltage to lambda) for the stock widebands you would want to use some aftermarket widebands anyways. If you are spending that much anyways what's a little more money for an aftermarket setup. If you are doing it fairly soon I would go with the F-con. If not wait for the Utec that's compatible.

I have an 05 using the Unichip on my APS TT. No problems what so ever for several months now.

There are no tuning issues with the wideband equiped cars. We've done a bunch of 05's, and my personal car also has the 5 wire wideband O2 sensors. I think what you are refering to, is that TS/TN might not be able to reflash certain 05 ECU's...which is definately the case. Not sure if that has changed lately.

For tuning, AEM is vaporware, in my opinion. UTEC is nearly done, and EU is working fine for people as well. So there are some good options on the market now, with more in the pipeline.

Unichips come with the APS kit, and there isnt too much of an aftermarket for them. If you really wanted one, you could talk to an GRD or another big APS dealer.

You can pre-order the UTEC's through us, and you'll see a link in my sig with more detail on how to do this.

Keep in mind that to tune the Unichip you have to be an authorized dealer, so if you don't have any in your area, no tuny for you!

5 months ago Turbonetics hadn't finished the 05 flash but it is done now and has been for the last month at least. There is an 05 Z car in San Diego right now running that flash. Since you are upgrading internals and shooting for more boost I would just go stand alone. HKS Fcon V pro is THE standalone on the market right now. 32x32 map, afr target tuning, you name it. If you have the money buy the HKS Fcon V Pro. If on a smaller budget I'd put my money on the UTEC or Emanage Ultimate.

Yeah I know turbonetic have the now software for it.. but since im going more boost, it would be stupid to send the ecu again. The car is in the garage for winter time and we will be doing all internal this winter.

Thank you for your clear answer. Money isnt an issue since its a business car for demo purpose.

Thank you!
