So could one say the bearings on a short block built for 800whp are 2x better?

The tolerances just aren't optimal for higher power levels.

Hint: >400whp might not toss a rod, but it will wear the bearings and rings MUCH more quickly every time you hit full boost.

This list should include what type of Dyno was used for said "whp and wtq". This will somewhat help in determining the differences in numbers.

For example... there's a BIG difference in numbers between Mustang Dyno, Dyno Dynamics, DynoJet and DynaPacks.

My Ride:
2006 G35 Coupe 6MT
463whp/424wtq @ 9.83psi - DynoJet (Tuned by John @ Z1 Motorsports)
BP Kit - PT6266 | Stock Block | Stock Exhaust Manifold

Note: During my dyno tuning session @ Z1 Motorsports, the stock clutch was starting to slip so who knows what I'm actually getting now after my ACT Clutch install...

What a/r housing are you running? Only reason I ask is because my 6266e .81 failed amd blew the thrust bearing at 14 psi so Im looking for others with any similar issues, lots of blah blah online about precision having **** steel bearings instead of brass but would like some real time feedback.

Same but journal bearing version with absolutely no issues.

THIS

Also doesn't account for shops doing hero pulls and then backing it down before you get the car for "safety".

Great #'s guys! I need to get my SC HR on a dyno; none around here, but I'll probably line it up for Vegas (120 mi. away). I'll do what I can to make the list!

Not directly.

The key to a high hp bearing is increased clearance; there is more oil moving more freely between the parts, allowing efficient lubrication at the higher load levels. The material is also important, and on some motors an aftermarket bearing is also wider than factory parts. There are different kinds of bearings, but as long as your engine builder knows what he is doing, they can set it up correctly. There are various multi layer bearings out there, and this whole discussion should be had with your engine builder imho.
