Default Turbonetics Hicup

What the hell is going on @ about 5800-6200 RPM. My car occasionally has what I call a 'hicup" between these RPM @ WOT. It's not pretty. The car backfires and shoots out huge *** flames like I was re-entering the atmosphere or some sh#t.

My dyno chart shows this happening. With the new exhaust it is downright frightening. Scared the **** out of my wife driving down a dark road the other night.

What the hell is going on ???? ANy possibility this could destroy my motor?

The car is running so rich it doesn't even register an AF between approx 4200 and 6100 when it just has a wierd spike. It definetly needs to be tuned and that should take care of your problem.

Yes that is true there is to much fuel going in... you need to get some type of engine management... Emange, Emange EU, or U-tec. That should slove all of your problems, the TN flash is good, but doesn't workout for most people.

I disagree. In all stock Z's besides the kit Ive seen dead on A/F's, and even with most kits + exhaust and plenums and pullies it is still a safe, driveable flash. Only been a few examples I can think of where they have been lean, and the people had to go piggyback. Of course people who want more power and go piggyback dont count....

Ditto. I can start rattling off names of people who have had the flash work for them and its dead on. That dip has appeared in EVERYONEs power curve. I think its Turbonetics making it RETARDED rich to make sure the motor is safe under the full boost load. I had the same kind of feeling of a flat spot too before I installed the Motordyne spacer. Since then the car seems to pull better across the power band. I agree that adding a piggyback can tune this drop in AFR out but its there to make the car safe.
