To use it with FI you want to get the MAP sensor. You don't want to be using the MAF in boost do you? The UTEC can do all kinds of stuff based on pressure and rpm.

There is also the tuner box that is used to log the a/f for tuning but its an option.

You NEED the MAP sensor to use the UTEC for FI. Its a must.

So.... I can throw my MAF sensor away? What does the MAP sensor cost? My friend has a MAF sensor with his UTEC. He has a STi.

No, you need the MAF too (for now), the MAF sensor is used when running off the ECU maps until it switches over to the UTEC. I understand that eventually they will have something so that you can get rid of the MAF entirely but not yet.

I think the MAP sensor is like $120

Interesting... so just the UTEC and MAP sensor are all I will need?

I didnt think you needed a MAP sensor in addition to the UTEC because it will clamp the MAF voltage when it takes over and just run the timing and fuel like the Emanage on an RPM based map. But I may be wrong. Maybe PM blacktuner who is a TurboXS rep.

Yeah it clamps the MAF voltage but it uses MAP and RPM for timing with FI. I was told I needed the MAP sensor multiple times. Maybe you could get away without it and just use rpm but it wouldn't work as well. For one thing the crossover from ECU to UTEC would not be as smooth. You want the sensor.
