How is driving that thing? Can you even touch the pedal without spinning the wheels? At what HP does the Z get difficult to drive on the road?

Just trying to figure out what a reasonable hp goal should be for a Z that doesn't go to the track.

Congrats on the HP!

If you can tuck 285's or 295's on your wheels, then 450-500whp is about the limit within reason. You are still going to smoke the tires a little bit, but with some practice, it's doable. At 500whp and beyond, it becomes really hard to control. But once you are up around 75mph, its just sooooo much fun to nail it....you cant have too much power up top at higher speeds.

I actually am running 315-30/18's in the rear without even having to roll the fenders.

NICE number man!

You must have a perfect offset...becuase I have had rubbing issues with 295's without rolling.

The Trq is on another chart, which I didnt print out. Its wwwwaaaay up there..

Yeah the Nismo wheels are built with that offset for that reason (so I am told). + they are light as hell. My friend Mike has the same wheels running 325's on the rear.

I know we talked about this in another thread, but is your car lowered? Mine is pretty slammed, and there is no way a larger tire will fit without rubbing. If it was stock'ish ride height, I might stand a chance.

I think everyone is worried about the rear and your picture is blurred. Does anyone running a 300 or bigger out back have some other shots. Like from the rear to see the contact path and the side to see bulge and how it fits under the wheel well.

I can see now...the offset on the wheels pushes them deeply inside the wheel well. If you tried that with a typical 22offset Volk TE37, for instance, you are going to rub.

Looks pretty good though...the tire bulges over some, but nothing too bad.

Actually I use TE37's on the track with the exact same tire size but Hoosier's and they are actually BIGGER even though they are technically the same numerical size. I'm sure your well aware that Volk's and Nismo wheels are made by Ray's.

Note the SSR Comp-Hs have a very similar offset and they are a more reasnable 10.5" width. the Nismos put too much squeeze on a 315.
When my 295R35-18 PSs fry out , I'm upgradeing to the 315R30-18ss. They look like they'll fit the G with no rolling or rubbing, I have gobs of room both inner and outer with 295s.

Thats correct, but I dont think the Nismos have an aggressive 22offset tha makes the wheels stick out a little...with a 10.5inch rim.

Don't worry, I am not doubting you, just trying to figure out why I have rubbing issues (without fender rolling) with a 10.5 22offset TE37 running BFG DG's in 295/35/18 size.

Wait I thought the largest you could fit on a 9.5" rim would be 285s...

are you saying you're running 315s on a 18x9.5 LMGT4s?? I'm interested to know more.. thanks
