So the AFR will be the same regardless of how little or how much exhaust gas flows across the sensors, yes?

I will have to say this is incorrect. The 02 sensor, senses how much unburnt oxygen is in the exhaust stream. Depending the the location of the sensor, it will be affected by the use of external dump if all of the Exhaust Gases are not being read by the sensor it self.

Thanks,

All of them are. The primary O2 sensors are located pre-turbo on the feed pipe. The only sensors that would see a reduced airflow amount are the ones on the downpipe which are the secondary sensors and have zero bearing on the air fuel ratio. These O2 sensors are there to measure a difference between the first sensors and them to detect the catalytic convertors are functional. Since there are no cats in this system it makes ZERO difference.

Thanks Mike. I am anxiously waiting for a write up on how you installed that TurboSmart WG. I may have to pick one up too. I assume it vents to atmosphere, how loud was it and how difficult was the install?

Mike/Dave,
Did you install the TurboSmart gate in the same location as where the Evolution goes, or elsewhere? How did you work the dump?

And last....PICS?

I just wanted to add that an open exhaust is not as free as a good exhaust. Gas velocity is what we are dealing with and a closed system can be more free than open. There is scavaging that helps with velocity. And from what I read I think the theory of trying to drink from a fire hose is one of the most valid.

I'm glad to see that FI issues are a big deal over here. I should have my car back soon and I know that if I have some Gremlins that you guys will help me make them see the daylight.

Exactly....Turbonetics would of course fab up a pipe to dump the Newgen back into the downpipe but it would be further back then the current dump...
