Just because Ted claims he is the only one that can tune the APS or Unichip, doesn't mean it's true.
Not only does Rob know the ins-and-outs of 350Z's, but just about any other Nissan or Datsun vehicle as well. If you think the GT-R is cool, you haven't seen any of the custom vehicles he's built.
Also, Rob has VERY experienced people working with him at the shop. You people tend to focus on Rob vs. Ted when you shouldn't. Z Car Garage as a whole has a lot more experience from top to bottom.
I will admit that Rob, Rico, Vince, Luke, Paul and others associated with ZCG are my friends and I am biassed. But unlike some others who have posted on this thread, I am not going to tell anyone where to go to have work done on their car. Just stand back and observe how each shop is run and pick the one for you.
If you were the ****, would you tell everyone? Don't talk about it, BE about it!

If you read my posts I like both and have had work done at both shops. I've even referred business to ZCG and will also refer future business to SP as well...
Rob/ZCG knows their stuff? No shiiit sherlock?! That's why they have a shop! Duh?!? And guess what else? Part of having a business is "sales" Usually, the more responsive, technical and knowledgable person at the point of sale earns the business. Yes, that is how it works, whether your selling and installing APS TT's, bunk Nismo exhausts or widgets at wanda's widget wonderland.
Ignorance. It spreads...
To the person who started this thread, do your homework, talk to both and make them earn your business! Just don't let the laps in the GT-R or the shine of the green datsun blind you!
ZCG and SP... Props to you both!
Good luck!
"Yeah I guess they can tune now can't they." Well that's what you keep saying so I want to believe you.
"Too bad we all don't drive Ferrari's." That's not the point.
Smog dyno??? Dastek makes the most accurate, repeatable and tuner-oriented dynamometers on the market today - bar none.
"AFter the dyno day everyone knows the numbers are fake, cuz they read Hp at the wheels or crank or driveshaft. Wherever. Their Marajuana numbers cuz their high like the dyno. All they are a numbers anyway, its how it performs."
Yes it is how it performs is it not?
Peace, because it wasn't my intent to go through this anymore. I'm guilty of it in the past but don't want it anymore cause it was wrong to do that. I would much rather be friendly with you guys too. So that's what you will get from me from now on.

As for the meets to tell you the truth i don't like to go to them because i am embarrassed for all the smack i had talked in the past. They are two different Z/G specialty shops and we are very blessed to have both of them.
Peace, Louzer!! I look forward to meeting you at the meets.

These posts just have a tendency to be inaccurate and people talk out of their azz without knowing the facts.
Z YA Mike
Bottom line for anyone thinking about the two shops. GO check them both out! They are only about two miles a part. Dont only talk with the owner talk with the guys that will be working on your car for the most part.

Keep saving because it never ends. The thing I wrote at the bottom of my sig, I truly believe it.
visit both shops and talk to both guys and go with who you are most comfortable and what your budget allows
i chose ted because:
1- he is an authorized APS dealer and has a direct line with the folks at APS. So you are almost assured to be the first for upgrades and fixes
2- he has his own dyno. Rob at Z Car Garage is currently finishing up installing his own dyno, so this evens out the playing field.
3- ted was cheaper, not by a huge lot, but enough to make a difference
from the looks of the shop, Rob is a very neat guy, very organized.
Ted on the other hand...is more of a get it done type of guy. he is not the type to bag and tag every nut/bolt, while Rob seems like that type of guy.
based on the estimates I got for my specific work, rob is a bit more expensive than Ted
both keep their telephone lines open 24 hours a day for questions or troubles. you will not be left to hanging in the wind once your install is complete and they have your money. customer support will be there after install.
so, like said, visit both shop and them make your decision. very simple.
