Default My Baby is sick (no boost past 2 psi)

I was worried last weekend when I was only able to hit 12.4 at Cali Speedway, today I went to Irwindale I usually run around 7.7 (1/8 mile), first run: 8.2, second run 8.7, another 8.7 and a 8.8. The last run I watched my boost gauge and it never went past 2 psi. I tried later on the freeway same thing.
F@$CK!

I thought I had forgotten on how to launch on slicks because I kept on bogging but I just did not have enough power to launch right.

I have not gotten any CEL's and the car drives otherwise fine, and pulls hard until it hits 2 psi then it just won't go any further. My A/F looks ok as well.

One thing that might or might not be related is that my Cruise Control no longer works...the Set light just blinks but it will not engage...obviously only if I try to use cruise control...

I'm hoping that maybe a vacuum line got ripped or got loose. I truly truly hope that it's not anything serious.

I'm going to call Brainstorm in the morning, I hope they can get me in on Saturday and fix this.

Anyone have any idea on what the problem is please speak up

Sounds like a boost leak, and like you said a line prob just came off or something. Hopefully.. but the Cruise Control thing is weird.

cruise control thing could be if u changed your clutch engagement point, you have to move the switch thats there on the under the pedal as well, dont know if you did that or not but it happened to me, i forgot bout that switch

I have not done anything on the clutch.
Last change was getting the Stillen Radiator installed. Cramping that all in there might have pulled a hose or so. Could that have maybe hit something around the cruise control?

I call BS on this because I have had 2 different gear sets in my car and they worked fine...no differences. The speed sensors work off the axle shafts anyhow and a gear change would make no difference to the ecu.

I believe you have an APS kit right, Check the coupler from the drivers side that goes to the bottom of the intercooler. My tuner used different ones because the ones on their shop car kept coming loose due to the length of them. Thats the only thing i can think of. Also the one by the throttle body backed off a lil on me so check that as well. Good luck.

I had the same exact thing happen to me. It MUST be a leak because the factory wastegate spring is set at 5.5psi. The only way to get 2psi is to have a leak. I had my passenger side turbo pipe come off the intake housing, and it was not fun to put back in. Just trace you IC piping and you will find it. I seriously doubt its a vaccum line.

Thanks for the info
When they installed my new radiator they had to move some stuff around, I wouldn't be surprised if that loosened one of the couplers...I hope that's it.

In terms of the Cruise Control, I did not change any gears nor pedal height...Once the boost problem is solved I guess I bring it down to Performance Nissan...that should still fall under warranty...I hope

I found the leak.

The coupler of one of the pipes going into the intercooler on the passenger side came off leaving the pipe exposed. This must have gone loose when I had the radiator installed and they had to move some stuff around. And then throughout the last few weeks it got looser and looser and then last night completely disconnected.

I'm going to performance nissan tomorrow to get my oil changed and will have them put the pipe back on since I'm way too tired to lift up my car. Hopefully this will be it and nothing got hurt. I hope they can also fix the Cruise Control.

Thanks for everyone's help!!!

Odd my cruise control did the same thing a while back.. hasn't come back since. This waws after I put the APS kit on. I also have a strange rattle/clicking noise whenever I rev past 1.5-2krpms. It sounds electrical, even if i'm sitting still in neutral and just rev it.

Mine worked fine after the APS kit was on for months, it's just since Monday that it stopped working, I don't think it has anything to do with the TT's

went to performance nissan and they reconnected the pipe, no charge since it got loose when they installed the Radiator, very cool.

The cruise control is still broken because I got there too late today and couldn't wait around so I have to go back for that.

I got boost again!!!!

I also have this its starts at 1800 and goes up for about 500-1000 rpms.. could it be something that at a certain frequency vibrates? also check to see if the plug attachment on the BOV is not rubbing against the engine bay.. clearance there is pretty small

no news, I won't have time to go back for another week or so and since I hardly ever use the Cruise Control I'm not too much in a hurry on that
