Default Why Overheating now?

I have had my Stillen Intercooled S/C for over 8 months and all of a sudden my heater doesn't work so I figure there is a air lock in the heater core so I break the top hose loose and try to push the air out. NOW my car goes through periods of the thermostat going to the top of the cool box(not all the way to hot) and my heater works at this time then it goes down to the middle of the cool box and the heater stops working. WTF? Is this just air in the system ? And if so did I cause it when I opened the top radiator hose? It has never run even close to hot.

could be air in the system or a fuked up thermostat. have the system bleed first and if you still have symptoms, then check the thermostat.

There is a bleeder valve for the cooling system right behind the intake plenum on the passenger side...

Do you have a pic of the bleeder valve? And do you think it may have been removed when they put the Blower on top of my motor?

I don't have a pic, and I can't take one because my Z is in San Diego right now. They shouldn't have even touched it to installed your blower. If memory serves me correctly the valve is yellow. I think its the only hose back there with a valve on it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I am having the exact same problem. I was planning on going to have someone look at it. I had my intercooler installed in July and it started when I needed the heater.

Does anyone know if the Stillen Intercooler has Any interaction with the Cars' Cooling system or is it stand alone like I suspect?

didn't find it, it is a small hose connected to a brass fitting? There are so dang many hoses back there I get confused. Can you narrow it down a little more?

the vacilating coolant temp is another sign of air in the cooling system. Believe me when I tell you that evacuating all of the air is a very time consuming process. With two people, and the right procedure, it takes about an hour. Otherwise, it can take a few hours. Just be patient, and keep bleeding from the heater hose...get the car up to operating temp....repeat..refill...top off..squeeze the hoses...etc. You just need to play with it for a while..funfunfun!!

You will see a plastic screw/plug on the passenger side heater hose, just next to the firewall. You cant miss it, as it made of plastic, and has a phillips head on it.

Ureeka I FOUND IT! Ok now after a little messing around my heater works as long as I hold the throttle at 1800RPM or above. Where do I go from here. Oh and which hose and I supposed to pump? The small heater hose coming from the firewall with the plastic screw on it or the bigger one going to the radiator on the passenger side. Also, should the screw be open or closed when I pump the hose? and should I open the fill on the Radiator? Please give detailed instructions as I am a Dumb **** and Haven't a clue on this procedure. Again Thx to Shariff and 350ZNV! I'm close I think!!!!!!!!!

Also, what is that Grey Wire hookup I disconnected while I was messin with that screw? It threw a damn code. Now I gotta get that cleared!

squeeze the two hoses going to the radiator. One is located on top passenger side, the other is driver side, and located lower. There are only two hoses going to the radiator, so you cant miss them. Push on them to help burp up some move bubbles.
