Default HELP with gauges

Hi my name is Gilbert and I just installed my AEM wideband, Boost, EGT

So my question is for some reason when I finished my install my VDC, gas, and temp dont seem to work. Would you happen to know why. Also just by reving the engine should I be able to see the boost?

Thanks

Did you disconnect any facotry harnesses when you installed the gauges? Did you cut any wires to source for power? If so which ones?

You will not see boost, unless the engine is underload...e.g. moving....but the boost guage will move between 0 and -0.7 kg/mm2 if you rev at idle

Correct... you should have 20 hg of vacuum at idle and it will go towards postive manifold pressure by doing a free standing rev but you wont build boost till the car is moving.

Hmmm..so the aftermarket gauges work but the factory ones and VDC dont? Are you sure you didn't pop a fuse. What wires did you tap?

Glad I could help...remember for the turbo timer you need to tap the black wire with the red stripe under the steering wheel. I did a write up on it...

Hey Robert I am only finding the black wire with a pink stripe on it not red. In none of the three connectors down there is there a black wire with red stripe on it. There is a red wire with black on it.

So do I tap the black wire with pink stripe?

Are you sure...theres should be a harness DIRECTLY under the steering wheel on the steering column itself. Not the fuse panel area. Its hidden by the plastic panel that your turn signal goes into. There should be a white connector with SEVERAL white and other color wires and ONE black wire with a red stripe.

I took apart the plastic peice with the four bolts on it. There are three white connectors and one black one that goes to the ignition. Should it be there

Yup. It should be the one like directly in the center of the bottom of that column. Not on the key side and not on the other side but literally on the bottom in the middle.

Thats the wire but there should have been another harness it went into on the bottom center of the column. Regardless the larger black wire with the red stripe is the one. If you have a multimeter you can check the voltage. It should be 0v off and 12 volts when the key is in the on position. if you dont have a volt meter just tee tap that line in there. Start the car and set up the timer. When you pull the key if you set the timer up right it should keep the car on.
