You get what you pay for in FI, usually. Knowing what I know, and seeing what I have seen.........IMO, If I had to, I would at least pay twice as much for a JWT TT kit over an APS and TN's ST kit.
justifying products you are selling, ehh but twice the cost?!

ok back on topic, I've seen the other hood that comes with the stillen and hated it but the one like in sukhi's car is very nice..
now, doesn't removing the strut causes less handling? and does a 350whp beat Z06, M5, Porsche 911 Turbo? I am just asking because I wanna know if this kit is any good for me or not..

If you're looking at S/C's most people would recommend the Vortech over the Stillen. Every so often you can find a kit with about 3 months of use on it for about 2/3 of the initial costs but cases like those are rather rare. (see my sig.)

OK here's my Take...I have the Stillen Stage III with a few other mods and as someone else mentioned, as long as you take it for what its worth (in my case around 342Whp) then you will LOVE it. PLUG AND PLAY! And thats NO JOKE! I am planning to Dyno with the NX-Nterchiller next week so maybe 380Whp is more like it with that Mod. I have had ZERO problems in almost 5K miles on this Kit and the INSTANT Response is VERY addicting as compared to other kits. I too LOVE the AWESOME sound of the Stillen S/C. Its' got a WHINE like NO other!

Here are a couple pics........

Yea I have been following your thread Nef. I want to do all my research before I commit to either way. For the last few months I have been researching Turbo solutions. Now im on the SC's.

Honestly my intrest in the Stillen is for purely uniqueness. They dont seem to be that common. As I said before, I know where I want to be, now im just trying to decide how I want to get there. I also want to get there via the road less traveled per say.

Anyway, im getting off topic.

Nevermind: there are replacement sturt bars. As for beating the cars you listed, no 350 rwhp wont do it, but it will definately give em a surprise. If your like me, decide where you want to be in rwhp range and then decide the best way to get there. Im look at the 350-400 range with an ultimate goal in the 380 + or - a few. I want a daily driver, but something with enough get up and go to keep me away from every jumpy little kid with a bottle of nos on his civic. I also want to give the M cars/Z06/911's a run for their money. That could realisticly be a drivers race. Having the HP doesn't mean the driver knows how to use it.

BLN350Z - Damn that kit looks good! So does the car. I am really starting to like the looks of that hood! Any sound clip you can do for me of the SC? Maybe a few passes under WoT also? Thanks!

Nowell: thanks for the reply.. really appreciate it..
I read somewhere in the forum that other strut bars are just useless and do not do their job as the stock one does...
as of my range, I am just like you, 350-400whp. prefering a 400whp but wouldn't mind a 350whp if it keeps me in the safe side.. of course, I'd love to take rich boys and show them that V6 can beat their asses
as I said in my other topic, my Z will be a daily drive for ~80miles a day on highways.. so I really should stay way from high boosts.. I don't cruise fast ( 120Km/h ) but that should trigger most of the TT/ST peak boost.

Awesome, how was the install? I have heard good things about their instructions. Any trouble parts you wish you would have upgraded/changed when you did the install? Did a shop do it or did you?

Take those strut bar comments with a grain of salt. It depends on the application imho. Regardless any strut bars are going to be better than nothing at all. Will some after market ones keep up with the body twist of 500+ rwhp? Probably not. Will after market ones help give you more rigidity for daily driving, probably so.

Ultimately, its your car. Make it how you want it. I have not yet decided one way or the other, but I like the info you can get off these boards for doing the research. As already said, take rides in each, ask lots of questions, and lay out everything on paper before you decide. Stick to your goals.

I have the Stillen Strut Bar Now, which I added after those pics were taken and OF course I notice NO difference at all, But I am sure it does help........

Nowell,
I had a local 1 man shop install mine only because he had just finished a Greddy TT install in a G35 and I was WAY too busy to attempt is myself. Plus, at the time I wasn't sure exactly how PLUG and PLAY the kit was, but if I had it to do again, I would do it myself..... The guy only charged about 1K for the entire job including an oil change and the Royal Purple Wet Water they reccomend for the Intercoooler......

I wanted to add that Stillen now Offers a Stage 4 S/C for the 350Z. The Kit includes a larger 7th injector, a larger fuel pump, a completely different piggyback SplitSecond Box and a host of other hoses and o-rings to complete the install. My salesman at Stillen (Kenny Ext 185) told me that the Stage 4 makes ~420Whp as Dynoed on their in house test 350Z's. The upgrade kit is around $700.
My problem with it is that the SplitSecond Box is STILL NOT tunable. It comes preset from Stillen to work properly with the new Stage 4 parts.

I am being told in excess of 410Rwhp, but again its a NON Tunable SplitSecond Piggyback they use........ I would love to know if the Emanage or UTEC or something like that could replace the SplitSecond Box and be properly tuned for the Stillen Kit.......... Anyone have thoughts on this?

Vision619 had one of these upgrades on his Z and he wasn't anywhere near the 410 mark. He had it installed by Stillen and the car was detonating real bad with the Stillen tune in it. I don't think this is the best route to get bigger horspower gains from this kit and still keeping your car in a safe drivable condition. The limited ability to tune these kits is tough to push to its limits. I believe his car blew the engine shortly thereafter? The kit is great for what it is and the sound and feel of the cars are perfect.

WAIT a MINUTE!
He knew his car was detonating after a Stage 4 install performed by Stillen themselves and he STILL drove the car and Blew the engine?

Something sounds fishey in that scenario unless I am reading it wrong.

What JAG says is true. Vision had his "stage 4" installed and tuned at Stillen. It didn't make anywhere near 410whp, even with all the mods and upgrades. A couple days later, he was on his way to meet us at Buttonwillow Raceway and his car blew up on the way up there. We had to trailer it home for him.

Not saying he was the sharpest tool in the shed on that day. His desires to drive it overpowered his common sense to correct it first before he had the problem solved. He has since learned a big and luckily not so expensive a lesson as it should have been about what not to do with a F/I vehicle. But it was a Stage 4 kit that was on the car and it would not DYNO anywhere near that number. In fact he eventually fixed the car changed out the new 7th injector added a new FMU and put in a methonol injection system to get better gains and keep his A/F ratios on the safe end of the scale. Now it runs great and never did it see 400whp.
