well hey mostly everyone here with 6sp has to upgrade their tranny's so its not that big of a deal that your tranny went out remember the SGP valve body is just for the tranny to change quicker it doesnt give strenght to nothing in the tranny. Atleast it took it for 1k miles

Ive heard that the were bad at that one some guy a couple of months ago posted something about his tranny that he did with level 10 and that it sucked. One thing did you beat up on it after you got the 1k mile mark. I think the only way this is going to be resolved is when the clutch packs come out. Did they give you warranty on the tranny.

BTW, SFR does fully built 5AT's. I don't know which coast you are on, but you'll be better off getting the SFR one through MRC (by mentioning level10 I assume that you are on East coast). Tinman has the fully built 5AT, so you can ask him about his experience.
And SFR's customer service is WAY better the level10's, FYI.

May have to do with our dear friend TurboTim' s SFR homepage being everything that his products are not.
75% of cars are in "coming soon" status and half the stuff they are offering is missing from the page.

BTW, if you don't mind me asking, in what order did you do your upgrades? If you made the power before building up the tranny, maybe its the initial damage caught up with you? The upgraded valve body should put some extra pressure on the clutch plates, no?

i had the built tranny on the car for about 5 months now.4 months on 402hp and 1 month on 452hp.it shifts hard and fast compare to stock.the reason i went with built tranny is to withstand the amount of HP i'm gonna push.straight from the guy who actually built it "this is good for 1000HP no problem" only time can tell.

a guy who built trannies for a living all his life.most of the jobs he does are for racing which are high HP cars.he's a sub-contractor,i had to go thru Tim @ SFR.i didn't deal with the tranny guy direct although talked to him a few times.

I don't know where you guys are comign from.... before my VB, I collected at least 12000 miles on near 400rwhp... And at least 2000 of those where on 420-440 rwhp on a STOCK tranny. We are about to do a build on that tranny, but i certainly do nOT feel the clutchpacks slipping.
Not true at all. The VB does NOT just make the tranny shift faster, it increases the clmaping force at WOP from 210psi of hydraulic pressure (approximately 3000lbs of clapming pressure) to 275psi (do the math on the clamping pressure) for a 31% increase in holding power. Remember that that tranny was designed with about 400crank hp (if oyu take into accoung that it's also found in the qx56). 30% on top of that should make it hold at east 533crank hp. Upgrading the TC and lowering it's stall should lower the fluid temps, which will probably increase it's holding a little bit (maybe negligible). Upgrading the cluth material and bands will get you only another 10% or so (from my research). Adding an additional clutch into each clutch pack, if that's possible here, will yield another 10-25%,a ssuming you go from 4 to 5 packs in that gear. By my calcs, you can then theoritically (and practically) get 630-720 crank HP, that's 510-583 whp reliably, assuming you have a fully and properly built tranny. If it's just the VB, then you are looking at 431whp minimum. All calcs assume 19% drivetrain loss. If you must push more power through the tranny relative to the amt of calculated horsepower that it can handle, then the quality of your ATF cooling IMO will play a major role in determining the ATs lifespan.
BTW, one can ask "why can't we crank the line pressure beyond the 275psi to get more clamping power?" The answer: you can, but that will overdrive the ATs hydraulic pump, and unduely affect its lifespan. With numbers beyond 275, it is estimated that the pump will last around 10-15K miles, and I belive this estimate assumes hard use. If that's what oyu are willing to do, that can sure be arranged.
