This is a G35, but not a typical install. I hate the way guages look, I want my car to look as stock as possible as it is my daily driver. The guages are hard to monitor on a coninous basis, but easy enough to check occasionally, or if I think something doesn't feel right. I'm planning on adding small stealth LED warning lamps in the dash to give me real time indication that something isn't right (or in the case of full boost, is right).

while i think that the idea was great, i think you might have a problem monitoring a boost spike or something similar when that happens it may be to late to know something is going wrong.

Like I said, its not the best place for continous monitoring, but if the guages weren't there, I wouldn't have any at all. The G35 coupe with Navi doesn't offer any nice places to install guages, and there is NO way in the world I would do an Apillar mount. Also, like I said, in the near future I'll have an LED to warn me of lean conditions (at WOT only), an LED to indicate full boost, and an LED to indicate overboost, all stealthily hidden in my center dash.

Default My pillar

Oil temp, Boost, AFR. A small led above the top gauge is green normally and turns red upon law enforcement contact.

I'm not a HUGE fan of the A-pillar pods either... it just screams boosted!

If I do go FI, I may position them in a little more stealth manner from a competitors point of view.

The first is my favorite (a member on here), but I would like to retain my stock gauges...

The other, a different location entirely...

The last, a skirt or indv. pod blinders... Something between the A-pillar pods and window that would help screen the glowing gauges. Something that would not impale you if you were to get in an accident.

I guess that is one way to mount a guage. I like my a/c to much on hot days though.
