It's been up and running for over a week now, but it's been hard for them to put miles on it due to the snow. Tuan sent the ECU to TS to be reflashed for my injectors and some other things he wants to try out.

So far, it's been running great; no smoke or issues so far. I'm hoping I'll have her back by mid January if not sooner

No offense... but since you obviously went all-out with a built engine and such, why not spend a little extra on a more common ECU system that's more easily tuned? Especially if you don't live in a typical tuner-friendly area? I assume Oklahoma, since it's listed as your location.

I will next year. The UTEC isn't readily available yet and the FCON is too expensive at this time. The Unichip will do just fine for the time being.

The reflash will allow the Unichip to utilize the bigger injectors? Zivman said he wasn't able to use bigger injectors with the Unichip. If the reflash fixes this problem, I'm going to be ecstatic!

It will. How else could Bigbri and Marluci7 be running huge whp and large injectors on a Unichip? The reflash does the same as what the UTEC or EU or any other scalable piggyback would do.

The Unichip works fine with low SCR and 650cc injectors. You just need to tune it in MAP mode, since the MAf saturates much above 12psi of boost.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

Yes, you can reflash the ECU for larger injectors. I just didn't want to spend 400-600 bucks on a reflash that simply modifies to a given injector. I think the money is better spent going towards a utec, map sensor, and boost solenoid (about 1200 bucks) and having more control.

The unichip is a fine solution for my current numbers -> 450 rwhp and 480 rwtq @ 14psi tapered to 11psi at redline. To go higher, I would want more control than the unichip provides - not that the unichip wouldn't be fine with a reflash of the ECU for larger injectors

The unichip clamps the MAF signal and uses a MAP sensor to modulate fuel delivery past the point where the MAF is overwhelmed. As those that run a reflash for their FI EMS should know, the MAF maxes out at around 8 psi.

I normally wouldn't spend that much either just for inj scaling, but I also had it flashed for 1000 rpm idle and 7200 rpm rev limit.

And at the time you had this done, utec was vaporware. Heck, from what I know, unless you preordered, it is still a 2-3 wk wait for a utec.

No they don't. That guy posted a bunch for sale, but has none, and will likely never get any. There was another thread on it..search for "UTEC and EBAY:.
