Exclamation To all you Turbonetics owners, What has been you favorite mod since going Turbo.

I am scheduled to get my car back from the shop on Monday, and I would love to have some advice and/or hear from people in similar situations. Dyno sheets before and after would be nice. Thanks in advance. Also, What has been your best track times before and after FI.

Definetly exhaust. If your running the stock exhasut get rid of it. Your turbo will spool up much faster, and you have the potential to make more power with a tune. But you may run into an overboost problem with the wastegate as I did. But a free flowing exhaust is a necessity in my opinion. Remember any changes to your car from stock will make the TN reflash useless. So you had better have some piggyback ECU in your plan plus 440 injectors, and a new wastegate and custom install or I wouldn't change a thing. If you make changes without a tune your asking for big problems.

The car boosted about 12.5 psi @ 44 degrees F. A few people are having this problem. The wastegate is a Turbosmart 48mm progate.

+1 on what JET said.

Tnetics says to stick with stock exhaust because thats what they tested and designed the kit for. Of course mine was long gone before the kit ever went in but I would certainly want something other than stock anyhow so maybe wait and see...

A/F was unknown, but the car was detonating like a b,i,t,c,h. Likely the A/F was in the 12's.

I've used the Apexi WS2 exhaust with good success. Others have used the Amuse R1 Titan, Apexi N1, Tanabes, modified Borlas, etc with no issues. My favorite mod was probably the Motordyne plenum spacer.

Big difference with the spacer, was more top-end or low-end power. Correct me if I am off base, seems that I read somewhere that the spacer couldn't go over 15 psi. It will be almost 2 years before I hit that much boost, but just thinking of the future.

Spacer will take anything you can throw at it. Your thinking of the rinky dink Kinetix plastic plenum.

I love my exhaust. The sound and look of it is F**king awesome and the price was right. about 450 total with labor. I have a MD spacer on the way and I plan on installing my emanage blue to get a safe tune and possibly add more HP. Good Luck!

I had a Fuji on my G before I got the kit installed and haven't had a problem yet. Since the post about the overboost problem came up I've been checking my hi boost recording regularly and I've yet to go over 8.0.

My best mod since the T' netics install was definitely getting the turbo housing and pipes ceramic coated. I wouldn't say it was a big horsepower increase, but the engine temp and housing went down by about 50-60%. At idle the housing temp was between 380-420 degrees. After getting back the parts from swain tech coatings, the housing was 190-220. Also you can get rid of that ugly housing shield. A vented hood would also be a nice addition to the setup.

after you install your turbo, you will notice a difference with the following mods:
1-exhaust
2-lightweight crank pulley
3-blitz sbc id

They all have their perks.

what did they charge you for that coating and what parts did you have done? Just the housing or all of the SS piping too?
