OK, so I went to take out the Plenum spacer, to find ..or not to find the stock bolts!! I hate it whent that happens! I ordered a new set from the dealer, and went to pick them up today, unfortunately 2 of the center bolts are coming from NY, and I have to wait a few more days, to button up and get back on the road to test some more.

So when I opened up the plenum, I found a small amount of fuel around the wires and hose...I thought, great problem solved, bad injectors, leaking, not spraying, but I pose these Q's:
Q1. So those of you with HKS SC-Kit, that have opened up their plenums, is this a normal find?
Mind you it was not a lot, but there was some....
Q2. I know we are supposed to be reading 7psi, but where on the intake track are we supposed to get that reading?
I am T'd into the nipple at the front of the plenum, which is also t-d off to the MAP sensor for the additional injectors.

thanks in advance ..-A

q1: when i installed my spacer, i found the usual thin layer of oil, that's all. no gasoline.
q2: i'm tapped into the nipple at the front of the plenum, like you.

thanks Matt...regarding the Oil. Nope, i'm sure it was GAS. Dang!!

Well, got it all back together,(without the spacer) and took her out for a spin. Here are my initial impressions:
1. Car feels better, seemingly more responsive, still have not seen 7psi on the boost gauge, but I was told that I would not see 7 till close to redline...But a solid 5psi just the same.
I could not monitor the AFR and the tac and the other cars on the road either.

2. Eyeballin' the AFR's, it's actually running leaner! I caught glimpses of high 12's to mid 13's...

I am pretty sure now there is something wrong witht he additional injectors. They are either leaking, or they are not firing. I am thinking they are leaking, due the fuel that was under the plenum, upon removal of the spacer.
I will be calling HKS tomorrow, to have someone take a look at the whole system, and FIX whatever the problem is.

any and all opinions and responses are welcome..thanks, again in advance.
-A.

Dude, The belt on the SC shouldn't be that tight. I had the same problem as you with the squeal and it is actually the crank belt and not the SC belt. It also sounds like that you have stretched the SC belt or you are putting way to much load on the pullies.

worst case scenario, you should be making at least 300whp at 7psi. let's say you had 235whp stock. 300-235=65whp increase, /7psi=9.29hp/pound of boost. at 5psi, you're only making 267-235=32hp/5psi=6.4hp/pound. way low. there's your problem. you're not making enough hp/pound of boost.
i don't think its your lean condition causing the decrease in hp. i'm just as lean with the spacer, and i'm making 317whp.
ya, send me the pix. i'll compare to mine and get back to you. my pulley position is nearly at the bottom of the available range.

schweatty: It's an 04

Mr. RIZK(aka Michael): OK, I will check out the Acc. belt, I think that is pretty tight too tho. thanks.

gringott: OK, again that leads me to believe that they actually did "NOT" turn the VDC off when they ran the car.

Just got off the phone with HKS. The person I spoke to was Brandon(He is my friend from High Schools cousin, din't even know he worked there. LOL)
Anyway, I told him my situation and he was going to run it past the R & D guys to see what they think, and call me back. So, I will take a look at the belts, and wait for HKS to call me back.
..so i'll be back

good point, but my installer tightened my crank belt maximally after noticing i wasn't making full boost on the initial dyno. i also used the "90 degree" rule of thumb to check the belt tension. i think i'll send a pic of my sc pulley position to hks to double check. thanx for your input.

OK, now it's semi-official. I know for sure there is definitely a fueling problem. Ran the car hard, yesterday with my partner driving. I monitored the AFR on the AEM meter...and BAM!! EVERYTIME we hit around 5200RPM the wideband would read 12.5 (still to lean if you ask me), it would jump to 14.5 and then go up as far as 16.6:1...

are you trying to blow your motor up,if you know your car is running lean?? Why beat it up more...just let your car sit, until its fixed, by profesionals. like i said before its your stearing lolumn that throwing off the VDC...wana get it fixed for free, if your still under warranty, is any minor things wrong with the car? axel click, noisy cockpit, have them look at it, dont even mention the VDC, just make sure its on, theyll just reset it with there computer, or you can pay 90.00 too do it

He's right, if you don't stop this you'll soon be buying a new engine in addition to trying to fix your HKS supercharger. Don't let frustration get the best of you. Trust me, this is how I blew my engine the first time and all of it could have been prevented with a good tune

OK, maybe I did not state the case correctly. I FINALY took it out and over 5K, I have not been driving it that way all this time. I am NOT trying to blow the motor, nor will I continue to drive the car until HKS or a Pro-Dealer look at the system to see why I am "laying down" up top. This kit since day one has not been driven above 5K, until 1. XS Engineering dyno'd and told me that I was up at 16:1, then until yesterday...so I will be speaking with HKS directly tomorrow and then updating everyone on the status of my findings, resolutions, etc...
thanks in advance to all that have and will post/reply...

Silly question. Are you sure the 2 extra injectors are working and wired correctly?

Well, I was in contact with HKS direct, early this week. Being that they are not a "FULL SERVICE" facility, for retail customers...there is nothing really that can be done. They referred me to either XS or SP engineering, because of their close proximity to me. When, I tried to explain the situation...the person I spoke with, said " so what are you gonna do, continue to drive it like that..? " Well, that prompted me to say, "no, but obviously you are not very interested in the experience that I, as a retail customer am experiencing with your product..so I guess, at this point there is nothing else to say..except thank you, and you'll be hearing from me at a later time.." I am scheduled to go to SP Engineering NEXT Thurs, around 3:30PM, in hopes that the 1st steps to resolving this problem will be taken. SP, seems like the shop to go to, since I have yet to hear back from XS...hmmm.

arrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Default HKS update/news...

Ok, it's been a while...but here we go!!
1. HKS is of now help, if you call them direct. They will refer you to a pro-dealer.
2. HKS has "discontinued" the ROTREX SC, and is switching to Eaton SC-unit. Directly from HKS-Pro Dealer.
3. Finally, got my SC looked at...by SP-Engineering. It took a little bit, to get in to see them, but ultimately a great choice for tuning. They did 10 runs...for the amt of work they did, a time to re-write the HKS maps...great, very reasonable in terms of $$, and Alex (the Owner), just wanted to make it right...stayed after hours to make sure!!!
1st Run: see pic (273 @ 5200rpm)
last RUN: see pic

they figured out that the additional injectors were not running properly, after fixing this problem, they tuned my car and ultimately, I drove away with a max HP of 335RWHP and 302ft.lbs of torque! WOW!!!
Only other mod I have is the KJR pulley.

I want to thank you all for all your input and help.

SP is great group of guys...talk to Mark, if you want to have your stuff done by them..they mos def take care of you!! K-gotta go drive now....c-ya ..

From what HKS Displayed at TAS it doesn't look anything like an Eaton but their own unit:
