My 03 has a raised idle done at the dealership. Worked great, I idle around 900rpm with 1000cc injectors no probs at all... perfecto.

So after reading the rest of these responses and calling back to my friend who is a tech at Nissan. Yes indeed only 03's idles can be raised by them.

Mine's an 04.5 (ULEV2) and they could not adjust the idle. Even the head mechanics of the dealership tried and couldn't.

as stated ONLY the 2003 models can be raised by the techs at the dealerships. If you own a 2004-2006 the only other thing you can do is technosquare.

Directly from Brian at TechnoSquare:

Hi Paul. Unfortunately, the lowest price for the idle increase is $345 for the L-Spec flash.

Is there any other option out there? I'm not paying that much just to have the idle adjusted...

I was just quoted $345 for that (see above). Where did you get that information from?

I took the car to Nissan to have the idle raised first. After 4 tries to raise the idle, the tech said for some reason it could not be done. Mine is an '03. I just assumed it was because of the VPro. Luckily the TS flash worked fine.

Not absolutely correct. I have an 04 (7/03 build date) and I had the idle raised by the Dealer.

1. My car idles for chit, it doesnt die or anything, just chatters some time's. I was told to have nissan raise the idle, is this correct??

2. My exhaust is "y" pipes single shot out, i have started to notice, black residue from the exhaust, my car runs really rich. I dont mind cleaning the bottem of the bumper everyday, I wish someone would make like a carbonfiber panel to put by it

3. If you have a full exhaust, doesnt it suck when you got the windows down at the light? The exhaust smell, well i bought some strong *** cologne for that-solved

other than that my car is now labled a "beast' i finally raced about every car i wanted to kill on my listed, and either killed or pulled
1. STI (got beat so bad, this is why i went TT) killed by 4 lengths on the highway, ide post the video, but i walk him so bad it doesnt even look like a race.
2. Pulled on a older viper
3. pulled past a ferrari modena and f355
4. any finally last night to a www.dallasimports.net meet THE new z06, giggley-giggley-giggley-oh riiiight~! Well, we took off, he actually got a little start on me on the hwy from a 50 punch, pulled on him by about a length. IM AM SATISFIED, PERFORMANCE WORK=DONE=SAVED $$$

So my experience, with the greddy kit, Jotech motorsports, HKS tuning?? Well worth every penny, im almost on a year on the greddy kit, going strong *knock on wood*. Would i again?? You bet your left nut.

Well for my My Z is FINITO, thank you JOTECH, Tony, Nick, Kenny, and of coarse the guys in the limelight justine and willie
i feel ya! the exhaust smell gets a lil annoying from time to time and ur right! i got a heck of a lot of cologne right there for back up.

yeah mine runs rich, but hey rather safe than sorry.

all in all nothing like whooping just about every ride out der! LOL

Exactly! Mine's and 04.5 (when they got the ULEV2 certification) with a build date of 04/2004 and the dealership could not raise the idle. Earlier 04 models (ULEV) do not have this issue.

I know this may sound crazy (possibly a redneck way), but I believe you could install an adjustment mechanism on the gas pedal, a stop if you will. I mechanically adjusted my clutch for less play, with the stock adjustment mechanism. It took me about a half an hour of playing around to get it perfect. As I think about going FI (with the Vortech), I've read I will have to increase the idle to around 1k to get rid of the chatter. I have a 04 and did not and still do not want to send my ECU out for this idle adjustment. When I installed my n/a air mods my idle dropped, a lot. But she still runs...

I believe if you are creative and handy, this is a simple fix. I know/believe I can come up with an adjustment mechanism for the gas pedal similar to the clutch pedal. That would only allow the pedal to return to a certain point using a stop plate with rubber cushion. You could finely adjust this plate using a machine screw. This would be an afternoon project, a few hours with some simple materials from the hardware store.

Obviously, I'll only do this if I go FI and this idle adjustment is necessary. I thought I would put the idea out there for others to contemplate, before they go and send their ECU off to the doctors...
