FINALLY going F/I
Ok guys. As much as many of you may not agree with this decision I will have peace of mind that reliability will not be such a factor here. As you all know I have been thinking about going TT for the longest time. After weeks and weeks of searching, I realize the issues that may arise may be too overwhelming for me as a person who is relatively new to the modifying scene. The real set ups I want which were APS and the JWT TT are new and I would like to wait for them to be put on more cars to see what they are really capable of as far as reliability or the thought was to even wait for the greddy to be carb certified. However between now and then I realised I could go with a subtle S/C while i learn the car a bit more and get into the F/I scene without too big of a monster with room for a newbie. So between now and the time i feel Im a bit more knowleadgeble about F/I i have decided for the Stillen Stage 4 kit. Today I have placed the order for the stage 3 and then in about 2 weeks or so will upgrade to the stage 4.
I dont track the car so going ***** out may not be good for someone new at this. Maybe early 2007 I may swap to TT kits. Im happy guys. I will finally have a f/i kit and be able to learn this new side with out being worried about blowing anything as much as i would be if i went to a big monster turbo kit as a first timer.
I wanted to thank everyone that helpmed me throughout this process. All your suggestions have coem into play and even though i went with a s/c instead of a TT kit like many recommended Im happy.

Ok..as long as your happy thats all that matters
Just keep in mind that even the Stillen may have issues. I know a couple of people down here that have had some minor issues, nothing big. Every kit will have issues..thats a given

It's one thing to say I want a SC but to say it will "warm me up for a TT" is retarded. Did you do enough research to show you that the Stillen SC has probably the worst gains of all FI? You would be better off with a 100 shot of N2O. How you are willing to accept the ugly hood that must be purchased along with the SC is a whole different story.

ehh... Ill be happy as soon as I find some place that will give me a loan to TT my car... I dont think i can possibly save up for a TT or ST/everything else it needs, coz Im sure I will spend the money on something else...
Good Luck man.. Im happy for ya!

i just got back from stillen today.... test drove the stage 2 and surprisingly, the car pulls really hard on the low end and mid end torque.... looks like there's a lot of stillen haters for some reason...... you realize that the vortech is freking loud... and the stillen is quiet as hell....

2. Read the Sport Z magazine supercharger test (Spring 2004 issue) we did comparing Stillen, ProCharger, & Vortech. Dyno's, 1/4 mile, and Autocross times included in the article.
3. Many guys need to be able to read a dyno accurately. The novice reads peak hp/tq numbers and draws conclusions soley on those. What is important to most people when they drive is usable power which is low and mid rpm power. Peak numbers are great for forum posts and if you are mainly concerned with having a dyno queen.
A good way of comparing two cars when reading their dyno's is to look at the dyno and write down what hp/tq numbers each car pulled at 2500rpm, 3000 rpm (500 rpm intervals), etc up to redline. As you read those numbers, see how they compare at those 500 rpm intervals and now you have a more accurate way of measuring the hp/tq you will actually feel when driving those cars. The statement "test drove the stage 2 and surprisingly, the car pulls really hard on the low end and mid end torque" above tells me you were possibly suprised because you might have been looking at peak numbers of the Stillen only on a dyno prior to driving it and did not realize its under the curve performance levels.
yes... thanks zland... i am waiting for them to quote on a good price if it falls through i will also join the stillen group...i do admit though i don't like the hood that much, but honestly it doesn't bother me that much. i like the fact that when i need the power i have it right away, and not have to wait until my car revs up to 4500 rpm until i start feeling the kick...... and i am also looking for a plug and play kinda situation.......no worries....
