Default AAM 3" Exhaust

I know that this is in the wrong section but i feel that more people in this section would be interested or be able to help/

with all that said i was wondering if anyone has a video or sound clip of the new AAM 3" exhaust. or if someone has used it yet and how it has worked. Main thing i wanted to know was how it sounded with the resonators and how loud it was. Thanks

i think the 3" dual exhaust loudness is all about the mufflers. I have cheap smaller mufflers and resonators and it is signifigantly louder than Sharif's car for example which has nicer HKS mufflers and no resonators. That is unless he has since changed his exhaust since late october.

But i have no idea about the AAM loudness.

Mine shipped out today from AAM... I will be able to let you know soon how it is.

Mike assured me it won't be that bad... It has two big resonators before the mufflers

I just finished installing it. Definately quieter than my HKS setup without resonators. The AAM system is VERY NICE...I am impressed! All polished SS, and thick SS flanged connectors. No slip fit joints. Its about 30% quieter than my customer HKS setup....I love it!

I will try to get a video up within a day....hold on.

For now, here are some pics, prior to install. Notice the flex sections...very nice touch...keeps pressure off the turbo housing/test pipes.

Nice looks alot better than the prototype pics... Very Clean. I got mine in on Tuesday... I'm just waiting for one more part before my install... Glad to hear it not crazy loud. Mike from AAM said it more of a deep sound low on the rasp.

Lookin fwd to a sound/vid clip...

will there be any loss in hp with the resonators over other 3" exhausts like the speed force racing ones?

I will find out shortly, but to put it into perspective, when I ran my car on the dyno WITHOUT mufflers, and then again with one set of straight through mufflers, there was no power loss at all. I imagine, that even with straight through resonators, the power loss, if any...will be negligable.

IMHO, the exhuasts are just too loud for daily street use, unless you have a set of resonatiors on there as well. That's just my opinion, my HKS mufflers gave me a headache.

The AAM sound is very mellow and deep, and not boomy or raspy.

Hey Sharif, which exhaust are you talking about; the borla mufflers that you can get with the AAM 3" exhaust, or the other mufflers? I also noticed that in the last pics of the AAM (borla mufflers) that was in a different thread that there was a section that went from 3" to 2.5" right by where it connect up to the cats. These look straight 3" thru . I'm going to be in the market for a 3" exhaust pretty soon, you gonna be selling them?

It looks like these step down to 2.5" too. Right after the flex joints.

I believe you are speaking of the SFR exhuast system, rather than the AAM system. The SFR can be made with Borla, Magnaflow, or HKS, and it has the 2.5 inch step in the system. The AAM system does not use Borla Mufflers, and has no step.

Failsafe, the flex join has a larger outer diameter, but the inner diameter, and all of the piping is 3 inch. There are no 2.5 inch internal diameter areas on the AAM system. Its a true dual 3 inch without any exceptions.
