No a week no....maybe a day or two. But no way you should ever be too lean. Too rich..sure...too lean...no way..

Alberto check this out..

Ok MAF was changed. HUGE difference. Car is on target with AF during idle and WOT. Before I changed MAF, car was running in the 9's at WOT. After I got the problem I stated in my first post, I was running upper 9's and lower 10's during partial throttle. With the new MAF, at WOT AF sticks around 11.1-11.2. The old MAF I got back is kinda oily and that may have caused all the problems I had before. Right now, I'm all smiles. I don't know why but it seems like the car pulls harder and the BOV is noticeably louder... *shrugs maybe just too happy
Is that the other guy you were talking about? Looks like he had a bad MAF..

lean = higher number
Under boost you want to be RICH to avoid detonation - WOT should be under 12. Low 11 would be nice under WOT.
At idle you should be at stoich =14.7 ideally.

Something is not right with that install. You are running 8 points to lean at idle and 7 points to lean under boost...

sounds like the readings are off...but I wouldnt worry too much about the value at idle. At WOT it matters.

Sounds like your wideband is screwed up. Combustion won't even happen above 19:1. The wideband gets my vote.

I forgot to ask you on g35driver. What AFR gauge do you have? Is it a wideband? That could make a big difference in the numbers you get. If it's not a wideband it's not going to be as accurate.

I also have an exhaust leak (got that t-clamp Reggie?). My AFRs are perfect. 14-15 at idle and below 10.5-11.5 under boost. I also have an aftermarket exhaust and plenum.

okay, they found the problem, it was the coupling on the exhaust side of the turbo. now i'm reading 10-9 under boost maxin' 9 lbs, at idle, 15-16 though. dips into 17-21 at times...or should i say kinda alot. okay, when i boost and i let off the gas, afrs go straight to 21...then when i get on the gas it shoots back up to 13-12. i dunno. i guess i still gotta get it tuned. but so far...i'm lovin' the boost quick question. is the exhaust pipe slip fit? if i were to scrap (say if my car was slammed in the front) it going over a bump, would it eventually slide off?

meatshackle...i have a zeitronix wideband. seems to be working okay now.

thanks goes to everyone who replied and helped a brotha out. the regret bug has fallen off of my shoulder.

Take it to the dyno before you waste cash on anything else...

Like mentioned sounds like maybe an exhaust leak affecting your wideband reading. At idle I will bounce around a bit anywhere between 14 and 16. How is the idle on all the cars? Maybe rasing it a bit might help with the idle AFR's to around 750-800

Glad it's working properly. The reason that it goes so lean after you let off the throttle is because the engine cuts the injector duty cycle to 0. Try this: get into 4th gear at around 3k rpms and get into boost then let off, it will go lean then slowly ease into the throttle again and it will get back to around 14.7. That's how it should work. But reguardless, get it onto a dyno to make sure the power output and A/F are ok and your wideband is working properly.
